Mighty Oak Log Cabin

Quaint and remote.

It has some aging issues. But nothing that was of much concern.

Has the potential to be a beautiful place. It's in a great location but it is not up to code in anyway.

There is a long list but to start off with, the cabin looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned in weeks, if not a month or so. Rat droppings, dust, a dead scorpion carcass, cigarettes buds, etc. In the picture you can see huge cracks in the support beams, light seeping in from the cracks in the wood in the downstairs bedroom, stagnet water that wouldn't drain in the tub and a wasp nest right outside the door. There was water damage on the walls, the upstairs shower leaked heavily into the downstairs bathroom, rat droppings by the pots and pans. A portion of the balcony is shaky and a severe safety hazard along with the railing. Doors wouldn't fully open or shut, blinds that wouldn't really open or close. I made the best of what we had but for the price, it was not worth it. And this place is not up to code in anyway. There are wiring issues, I'm sure there is mold as well due to the amount of water damage we saw. It needs some series tlc.

The quietness of the area, the short commute to town, how cozy the home was, and Clean. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable. I never sleep well in any bed besides my own, and this one was great.

The house was a little creakier than I would like. We stayed in the loft and our friends stayed downstairs. We could hear each other walking around. There was an order the first night, sulfer like. But we didn't notice it the second night.

the only drawback was the driveway. we drive a big truck and it’s was narrow but that was the ONLY complaint

Everything, quietness, the view. Waking up to friends [deer] in the backyard. We are country folks the rusticness was just right for us.

The stairs but we still had a wonderful time.
