Awaken Da Nang Hotel

Close to the beach, modern and very clean. Aircon very good. Staff very polite and friendly. Rooms are to a great standard and like new. Cleaned daily with fresh towels and dressing gowns. All in all, a very clean and hygienic place to stay, with professional and helpful staff.

Breakfast is overpriced in the hotel so we opted for a room with a small kitchen. However, this didn’t have a pan for cooking eggs, and there was no toaster which made any kind of breakfast very limited. Also, we paid for a room with a balcony but no seating was provided so could not sit on it, only stand. This is not a complaint, but hopefully constructive feedback. With a few tweaks, this would have been a perfect stay. Would 100 percent stay here again.

Die Lage direkt am Strand mit dem Blick auf das Meer ist hervorragend. Positiv war auch, dass wir bereits vor der offiziellen Check-in-Zeit unser Zimmer beziehen konnten. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt. Der Kinderbereich war in Ordnung und teilweise sogar besser als in einigen anderen Hotels, die wir während unserer Vietnam-Reise besucht haben.

Der Empfang wirkte auf uns eher kühl und wenig persönlich. Im Vergleich zu anderen 5-Sterne-Hotels in Vietnam fehlte uns etwas die Herzlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Der Pool war recht kalt und bereits morgens lief relativ laute Musik. Das Fitnessstudio war klein und die Geräteauswahl begrenzt. Während unserer Nutzung gab es außerdem keine Handtücher und keine Becher am Wasserspender. Die Flure wirkten durch die Fliesen etwas kühl und hellhörig.

The hotel itself is newly built and the facilities are clean and modern, which is a positive. However, the overall experience fell short of expectations in several key areas. Service felt robotic and transactional at the front desk; lacking the warmth and genuine hospitality that makes a stay memorable. The door staff were a pleasant exception and deserve credit for their friendliness.

Our biggest issue was the room allocation. We had booked months in advance with a specific written request for a high floor away from the elevator. Despite this, we were placed one room from the lift. The hotel clearly did not honour the request, and when we raised it, there was no meaningful attempt to rectify the situation. Noise insulation is seriously lacking. We could hear every guest coming and going from the elevator throughout the night. To make matters worse, children were running and screaming in the hallway until 11:30pm. We called reception and were told security would be sent, but the noise continued uninterrupted. No follow-up, no resolution. If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, look elsewhere. With so many excellent options in Da Nang, this one does not stand out for the right reasons.

Auch bei Fragen oder Anliegen wurde schnell und kompetent unterstützt. Der Service war insgesamt sehr gut und hat meinen Aufenthalt angenehm abgerundet. Ich kann das Hotel daher uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.“

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel like I have to share my experience. What happened during my stay completely overshadowed anything positive about this hotel. While I was there, a person fell from the building. I witnessed it myself, along with many other guests, including families with children. It was shocking, traumatic, and honestly something I wish I had never seen. The atmosphere afterward was surreal and deeply unsettling. Guests were crying, angry, scared, and trying to process what had just happened. Many guests immediately wanted to leave, which is completely understandable after witnessing something like that. I do want to give credit where it is due: the staff were kind, professional, and did their best in an impossible situation. They had to deal with frightened and emotional guests while also handling the aftermath of a tragedy. I genuinely felt sorry for them. What I struggled with was the way everything felt afterward. The body was covered with cardboard boxes, which may be normal procedure here, I honestly don't know, but as a guest it felt incredibly eerie and disturbing to witness. The entire hotel suddenly felt like something out of a horror movie. Even though nothing about that tragedy was the staff's fault, the atmosphere became so uncomfortable that I no longer wanted to stay there. One thing that left a particularly bad impression was the absence of management during such a difficult moment.… but just an observation. We were also disappointed that a full refund was not possible despite deciding not to stay because of what had happened. I understand policies exist, but when guests have just witnessed a fatal incident, some flexibility would have gone a long way. As for the hotel itself, I honestly don't understand the 5-star rating. The room was nice enough, but Da Nang is full of hotels that are cheaper, better located, and offer a more complete luxury experience.
