The Lodge at Woodend

Jamie & Annabelle were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, great property in a very peaceful country setting.

Great location. Peaceful, clean and tidy. Spacious. Excellent kitchen size. Would stay here again. Easy to find with instructions provided. Hosts were pleasant and friendly.

It was very good. Wifi was touch and go. Suggestion points: extra towels, cutlery and crockery, some oil, salt and pepper for guests to cook would be helpful.

The Lodge at Woodend lies above Kemnay at the end of the road, very quiet with a beautiful view. The Lodge is newly renovated with sitting room, an open kitchen, a bathroom and a sleeping-room. You may even sit on a veranda for the weather being like sitting outside. After a day visiting Fivie or Fraser Castle, Loch Shiel with the summer-house of Queen Victoria or the coast at Crovie the Lodge is the perfect place to relax (even better than the Tarland Tearoom and that was worth visiting). Jamie and Annabelle are very helpful and friendly hosts, they couldn't be nicer. We are thankful for such a wonderful experience

Nothing

It's more secluded than I could have wished for, with my bedroom looking out over a field of beautiful sunrise and honeysuckle. Yet, close enough for my teen girls to safely walk to the village on their own. Clear instructions to get there, with a simple Master lock key entry, though the hosts gave a polite, 'we're here and we acknowledge you wave', perfect for us, a happy mix of autistic women in need of peace and quiet. There is a deck and a patio, private and warm. The house is immaculate, clean, clear lines, perfect, new, fresh bedding and towels. My favourite touches being tea in the cupboard and milk in the fridge for our arrival! Then, as if I weren't quite sure if this were lucky or subtle elegance, the bath products had 'The Lodge at Woodend' on the bottles. Niche. All kitchen necessities in house, and a TV and WiFi. There is a wood burner and lighters and some logs for a special winter touch.

I'm not a great driver and the track near the lodge is single track and I was scared I'd have to let someone pass but it's quiet and there's actually plenty spaces for manoeuvres, parking and easy turn around You should also know there's an empty space on the first floor, with a window and beautiful afternoon light. I wish I'd brought my yoga mat, there'd have been space to run a retreat for four...at 'The Lodge at Woodend'
