Ou Werf Farm Cottage

A peaceful albeit rather windy setting at the top of the hill. Nice and comfortable cottage with a lovely patio for lazy afternoons and gorgeous sunsets. Excellent inside fire place/braai.

Not dislike, but would suggest thicker curtains, towel rails rather than hooks so that the towels can dry better. Since the cottage is far from any shops, providing a few more basics would help: bath soap, coffee/tea, salt, pepper. Milk was provided, so why not add tea/coffee. Also the potjie was dirty when we tried to use it.

The tranquility, peace and quite is perfect for a complete rest. The views are stunning and it is completely secluded from everyday life.

Everything inside the house seems to be hand-me-downs - from the furniture to the bedding and blankets ect. The pans were rusted and all the cupboards are dusty. The couches in the lounge seems to have been chewed on by dogs? All this said, I don't mind the old and rustic but it can at least be clean... There is a woodburning hot tub but it was filled with water and dirty, and we were told we could not use it...

This is a fully self catered cottage situated on a slight hill on a working farm outside Bredasdorp - a real "little house on the prairie". I couldn't really fault it except it may be a little exposed if the wind blows, but it was fairly calm during our one night stay. Everything is provided for, and it was comfortable without being ostentatious. Keys were left in the house which is a couple of kilos away from the main farm house so it is nice and private.

This place is peaceful in its own ways. It is the place to go to get away from all my troubles. It is the one place where I could sit forever, and never get tired of just staring into the deepest blue I have ever seen. It is the place where I can sit and think the best. A place where nothing matters but what is in that little moment. The one place capable of sending my senses into an overload. Thank you for a lovely stay..

The location was stunning. The beds were comfortable. Hosts were helpful when the geyser didn't seem to work.

The fireplace in the living area shouldn't be used if sensitive to a smoke. The ventilation isn't great.

The location is spectacular, in the middle of farmland, traditional feel. Fabulous
