Palm Bay Beach House

A very nice house, with very comfortable beds. A very nice place for a family visit.

Great location, nice outside garden with playground for kids, nice patio for dining and barbecue. The kitchen is well equipped, we had everything we need, as well as wine fridge was a nice touch :) The host was kind and responsive - allowed to drop off our stuff early and let us check in earlier. They also sent us welcoming 2 bottles of wine, which we enjoyed with some barbecue outside Overall the house was relatively clean at first look, but would be nice to have proper cleaning... Nice house for weekend - I'd recommend it to my friends

The furniture is quite old and most of it is broken. No locks in bedrooms and bathrooms (i think except for guest bathroom). The doors are quite as well, making a lot of noice when open/close and don't close properly

Good location (easy and very nice seafront walk into Margate), nicely decorated, nice sized rooms and good parking.

The house was cold when the group arrived but once we put the heating on, a smell of sewage gradually spread throughout the property. The smell dissipated when the heating was switched off. By the 2nd night (-2 outside), we were left with little choice but to turn the heating off, open the windows to air the property out & sit with our coats on, due to the smell having become so strong. The host was unreachable from 8.40pm on the 2nd night when we tried contacting her and the information given for the management team at No7 was incorrect, resulting in us knocking on the door of a neighbour with no connection to the property - apparently not a first for them! We believe this information pertained to another of the hosts properties and was provided mistakenly, however, the host denied this, maintaining that the information was correct. Aside from this, there were a couple of issues with cleanliness (notably, the air fryer was dirty and hair was found in one of the en-suite showers). The main disappointment with this property is the attitude of the host, who neglected to have anyone attend the property to address the foul smell, nor did she accept that incorrect information was provided regarding the management team. Sadly, she came across as unhelpful, dismissive and argumentative - we were made to feel as though we were overreacting. This is a shame as, as it turns out, I have stayed at another of Gail's properties and had a wonderful stay - I would only raise a complaint if necessary. We requested a partial refund as we felt that our weekend had been negatively impacted; she became passive aggressive and dismissive in her replies. As a group, we decided we’d rather forget the money than deal with her any further. Such a shame, as we had all been looking forward to it and the house looked lovely, but this definitely spoilt what we had hoped was going to be a pleasant weekend.

Large comfortable family home. Lovely garden with swings frame etc. showers/ bathroom great fun for the children. Beach at the end of the road near facilities all good.

Door from the kitchen to the conservatory needs some attention difficult to open and close. The rug in the front room had curled up at the edges so we turned it round perhaps needs replacing as a trip hazard.

Great location, literally 2 mins from the beach & short walk from Margate.Lovely large social rooms & social garden area. The house had literally everything you could possibly need

The property is beautiful and well equipped. The host has thought of everything! Lovely walk to beachfront, market and local amenities.
