We loved being in the centre of this beautiful old fishing hub, having a stunning beach on our doorstep made our stay perfect. Surrounded in shops, bars and restaurants in the many narrow lane ways.

La Situation géographique

Great location, right in the middle of the old town, the apartment was cool inside during the heat, rooftop terrace is a cool feature - be it for sun baking or to watch fireworks. The host is super helpful - a guide for Cefalu town, detailed instructions, stayed on top of all communications.

stairs to get to the apartment and access to the terrace is a bit tricky. It cannot be changed due to the original design of this historical property, but people with mobility issues should consider a more accessible property.

L’appartement est idéalement situé pour découvrir Cefalu et propose une grande chambre confortable, un salon avec canapé convertible et la surprise se passe sur le toit pour des couchers de soleil magnifique !

L’accès est rude avec des escaliers très pentus. Cela ne nous a pas dérangé mais je pense c’est utile de le préciser pour des personnes plus âgées.

All the necessary equipment you need for an apartment

The place is spacious and light, with a comfy bed and two sunny balconies - but the rooftop is where this place shines - we spent a lot of time just chilling up there, and the views of the cathedral and out to see are stunning. Despite being right in the centre of things the place is quiet and peaceful, and an easy walk to the beach for a morning swim.

This was a case of overpromising and under delivering. The host sent multiple messages in the days before, detailing how great the place was, local recommendations and even that they had left some 'goodies' for us to enjoy - so our expectations were sky high. However, when we arrived there were several issues: the light on the stairs leading to the place was broken (and dangerous), the kitchen and roof top were dirty and had to be cleaned by us, there were no goodies, and cleaning products had been dumped in a corner of the bedroom and had to be put away. The place needed some tlc - with shelves nearly coming off the walls, paint needing touching up and the umbrella on the rooftop broken and ripped. These problems did not hugely affect our overall enjoyment of our time in Cefalu, but the place did not meet our high expectations. The host was very communicative and tried to sort these issues, but our first impressions were not great. With these issues sorted, this could easily be a 10/10 place, and the rooftop is genuinely magical.
