Camping By The River

Not a great deal to like.

The owner’s attitude absolutely stank. Decides to raise his voice in front of children whilst arguing over a security deposit. Offensive, threatening and astonishingly unreasonable. Prior to that, seemingly didn’t want to address the problem with other campers making an unreasonable drunken racket till early morning. So much for a family site, no curfew on noise. Also, the one shower was out of gas and therefore cold. Not a lot to expect that to have been checked.

Really fantastic location, super private and very well managed. The tents were beautiful and really well equipped, great cooking/bbq setup and loved the outdoor fire!

It was silverstone race weekend, so a bit pricier - but still good. It was slightly difficult to find and navigate to, through farmland and country roads etc.

Really great stay. Friendly helpful hosts. We were there with our two teenage boys and they were in their element! Fishing, kayaking up the river, swimming and camping! Variable weather didn’t spoil it - tent was dry and cosy and the umbrella for the picnic table meant we ate outside even in the rain. Beautiful location by the river. Very comfortable beds with thick warm duvets. We all slept really well. Good set of cooking utensils and glasses to drink out of. Wine tastes better out of proper glasses!! We used the BBQ everyday and the fire pit was great in the evening with wood supplied.

Nothing really.

It had everything we needed but at the same time brought you back to nature and took away the stresses of life. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating.

Owners are constantly watching. If you book the one tent then they stay in the other. If you book both tents then they are in the boat opposite. You are not left alone to enjoy your stay. Privacy is bleak, when sitting on the toilet you can see straight into the shower… it’s fine if you know the people but a bit embarrassing when you realise it was the owner. I dread to think what of my body they had seen before I realised this.

What a gem! I can't even describe how relaxing and tranquil this place was. Comfortable beds, private campsite, as says right on the river. Lovely and attentive hosts. We will certainly be coming back!
