A Casa do Comandante - Piscina e Jardim

Le jardin et la chambre sont très bien. Salle de bain partagée propre.

Un peu loin à pied des restaurants.

Notre hôtesse était vraiment sympathique, énergique et à disposition si besoin. La maison est très grande et possède de beaux volumes. Elle est aussi très bien équipée à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur. Nous avions une immense chambre avec salle de bain privative dans laquelle nous avions une petite autonomie supplémentaire avec les autres résidents de la maison : un coin pour manger avec frigo individuel, bouilloire, cafetière, grille pain parfait pour les petits déjeuner. La maison est très bien située pour explorer l’île, sa place est très centrale et permet de rejoindre énormément de lieux en moins de 20min (aéroport, Ponta Delgada, Vila do campos, la côte nord, les bains chauds….)

La maison est sonore que ce soit avec l’extérieur ou l’intérieur. Les fenêtres doubles vitrages permettent d’isoler le bruit extérieur mais la route à proximité immédiate reste audible même si la nuit le trafic est peu important. Plusieurs chiens habitent le quartier et peuvent aussi aboyer la nuit. Les murs des chambres sont bien étanches au bruit mais le son passe par les portes et ensuite tout va dépendre de vos colocataires : en fonction de leur discrétion, de leur habitudes de coucher ou de réveils nocturnes pour utiliser la salle d’eau commune des autres chambres, vos nuits peuvent être très différentes.

House is great, well maintained and clean. Rooms were nice, common areas well kept, kitchen well equipped, garden was beautiful, pool was great, jacuzzi too. Hosts were super friendly and helpful.

The only disadvantage I could find was that there was nothing to dry towels on inside the room, like hanger or something. Also, it is close to the highway so simetimes gets a bit loud upstairs if you want to keep window open, but it is still bearable. Anyway, all advantages above make it a great place anyway.

I would not stay here again. The photos and map location on Booking are deceptive.

The property is named "Piscina e Jardim" (Pool and Garden) and the listing prominently features photos of a beautiful pool and garden. This is accurate for half of the rooms in the house. Rooms on this side of the house look directly into the garden. The room I was given was on the other side of the house. It had windows on two sides that both face a busy highway with an elevated overpass. Heavy truck traffic is clearly visible and you can hear it very clearly in the room. There is no garden view and no pool view from that side of the house. I asked to be moved to a room facing the pool shortly after I arrived, since this is what I was expecting based on the photos of the property. I also requested a quiet room when I made the reservation. The host said all rooms were occupied and a move wasn't possible. When I pointed out that the room did not match the listing photos, the host explained that the garden and pool photos are of common areas, not the room itself. She also suggested I could view the garden from the balcony. In reality, this requires stepping out of the room and walking to the far end of a narrow balcony to see a small portion of the garden — this is not a garden-facing room by any reasonable definition. In reality, that balcony looks at the highway. I also experienced persistent WiFi dropouts throughout my stay. When I reported this, the host only asked that I check that I was on the correct network and didn't make any effort to check the wifi. The location shown on Booking.com's map does not accurately reflect the property's proximity to the EN1-1A highway. It instead shows the house as some distance south of the highway. In reality, the house is just above and right next to the highway. If the house were closer, it would be in the highway. It's the last house on the street before the highway. I told the host within an hour of checking in that I would be checking out in the morning.

Room descriptions are clearly incorrect. For our room it mentioned for example stovetop and washing machine (laundry) available in your private kitchen. This is not the case. Owner said she cannot change it as booking doesn’t allow her to change it. I doubt that. Location on booking.com is incorrect (it’s placed closer to the center of Lagoa than it actually is). Can apparently also not being changed with booking.com. Also not really sure about that. But here comes the worst part of our experience: our bathroom was invaded by ants and some of them also found their way in our bedroom and hence in our suitcases. Quite uncomfortable. After reporting, they had it cleaned, but actually blamed us for having some candy in the room that attracted them. That’s nonsense, the invasion happened in the bathroom and actually the ants came back overnight 😉 On the positive side, they cleaned the room after each invasion, but unfortunately not properly fixed the issue and actually tried to partly blame us for the ants. Not even an excuse.

It’s a lovely big house with amazing amenities, close to the airport and the main road to discover the island. O Rui restaurant they recommended in Lagoa was incredible !

The house was quite damp, but so was the weather on some days so it may be better in the summer !

Una casa de vacaciones, para relajarte y disfrutarla. La cama súper cómoda y las instalaciones muy bien preparadas, con todo lo necesario. Se nota que este proyecto está hecho con cariño. El jardín genial, con barbacoa y piscina. Y los dueños súper cercanos. Volvería sin dudarlo.
