The Refuge, Wendover

The house is a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings

To be honest, this place exceeded my expectations! Check in was so easy, there was easy and seamless communication with the hosts who were always available for help/support from the start. Everyone loved the place!! The pictures do not do the place justice - the living room is very big, there is a beautiful island in the middle of a well stocked kitchen (we didn't look well enough for the cutlery but it was there!!) and there were three beautiful modern bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and there was even extra bedding and blankets that came in handy as the sun started to set (there is easy to use heating in the house too!) The outside space is beautiful, we made good use of it! We had enough parking spaces for our group, and there are shops in a short driveable distance, in case you forget anything. Would definitely recommend this lovely remote stay for a nice reset, or if you want to spend some time with friends/family!

There were a few minor issues which were resolved when mentioned but nothing that majorly affected our stay.

The size of the property was more than adequate for our needs. Good hot showers.

The ensuite toilet was blocked. We where advised enroute that it was not to be used which was fair. Disappointed with lack of direction to the property due to a late expected arrival. Tried to contact the owner but couldn't speak with them. Finally they text giving more information to find property after 30mins trying to locate it. The road had no lighting which at 11pm made locating an AI generated picture of the property particularly difficult as it was the expected finished look of the house. In reality the area especially at night was hard to identify.
