Very cute place. Super clean

Petite maison en bambou très charmante. Elle est tenue par un monsieur vraiment adorable qui n’hésite pas à vous aider en cas de besoin. Nous sommes arrivés très tard et le propriétaire a pris le temps de nous accompagner chercher de quoi manger dans le quartier. La maison est propre et bien entretenue, tout ce qu’on attend d’un logement dans une petite ville en bord de mer.

Le lit est un peu petit pour un couple mais on s’y fait facilement

What does good accommodation mean to me? 1. Feeling safe 2. Getting good sleep 3. Cleanliness 1. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel safe here. I was welcomed by a barking dog at the entrance. I usually love dogs, but when arriving late at night in a new place, you simply don’t know how the dog might react. (Maybe putting up a sign saying the dog is harmless would help guests during late check-ins). All night there were rats around & under my bed, and running around my stuff. (No, I don’t have a phobia, but it’s simply disgusting.) In the morning I noticed that 3 out of my 7 bananas were gone. It honestly feels like it’s only a matter of time before someone gets sick. 2. The huge rats kept me awake most of the night, either eating things under the bed or running around my belongings. And if the rats didn’t wake you up, the roosters starting at 4am definitely would. The mattress itself was comfortable though. 3. Cleanliness was okay overall. Usually I don’t leave bad reviews, but you simply can’t run accommodation with a 4.4 rating while having issues like this around the property. The only really good thing is the location near the port for Malapascua. Apparently the owners are nice people (I didn’t meet them personally), but that alone doesn’t define good accommodation. I’ve been travelling around the Philippines for 4 weeks now, and this is the first place I wouldn’t come back to. In the morning when I was like "Oh let's get over the night and have shower and coffee. Kettle didn't work and shower run-out of water. Owner's promised compensation - that didn't happen, they just stopped responding. Luckily Booking.com is fair and they compensate it, cause even they couldn't make agreement with the owner's.

Booked this property last minute for 1 night before going to Malapascua. Eddie and Joy are lovely hosts. Eddie met us at the top of the road, showed us round, took us to get food and as we arrived late welcomed us into their home to eat our dinner. The accommodation itself is great value for money, there is a kitchen area, living space as well as garden and separate balcony with bedroom upstairs. Powerful fans in all areas, TV with Netflix etc, coffee/tea, drinking water. Eddie even drove us to the pier before our ferry, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, best option in Maya for sure!

There are negative reviews saying it isn’t clean. This isn’t true, the place is very clean however it is a bamboo built hut by the sea, if you leave food out, this will attract insects - as long as you store food correctly you will be fine, we didn’t have any issues with this during our stay.

El peor alojamiento en el que he estado. Llegué durante la noche y al principio todo bien, el lugar se veía acogedor. Después entré al baño y estaba ASQUEROSO. Claramente nadie había hecho ningún tipo de aseo, y en el momento de decirle a la dueña me pasa un tarro de cloro para que yo lo pudiera limpiar. Lo mismo en la habitación, todo sucio. Durante la noche no pude dormir nada por la cantidad de ruidos afuera. Entre que estaban matando animales y un hombre que no paraba de hacer arcadas y vomitar afuera de mi habitación. Le envié un mensaje a los dueños y nadie me contestó. Por la mañana no había agua para ducharse, y nuevamente nadie me contestó. Me sentí muy poco segura durmiendo ahí, no lo recomendaría para nada.

En attente du propriétaire à l’arrivée Réveil régulier par le coq, les chiens, les crachats des voisins, la TV à 3h du mat et surtout la visite des rats toute la nuit

Emplacement est top (même s’il y a un coq juste à côté) nous avons bien dormi grace au ventilateur dans la chambre et le matela confortable La hut est adorable et tres bien équipée avec un grande télé ! Vous pouvez cuisiner si vous le souhaitez Joli petit jardin avec vue mer 🌊 Merci Eddy, le propriétaire pour cette conversation sympathique le matin :) Proche du port 15 min à pied et 5 min en tricycle
