TIDES BEACH PARADISE best served patch of beach

The biggest pro of this property is the location as it is about a 2-minute (if that) walk to the 16th Ave beach access. It also has parking spots for two vehicles. There is also a closet full of beach supplies (a wagon, two beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc.). Communication with the host was always timely, with clear check-in and check-out instructions.

There were many cons to the property. Upon check-in, we noticed that the floors were sandy. There were bugs on the carpet within immediate view as you go upstairs, which makes you wonder if they even bothered to vacuum in between guests. The shower curtain had visible pink mold on it. The toilet flush handle was almost broken off. There were stains on the couch and curtains. We even found an empty water bottle under the dresser (within immediate view). The host, Eric, and the SSM team asked us to send pictures and offered to send the cleaning team again, to which, we declined because we were only staying for a short time. Though it was nice of the host to offer to have someone clean again, the unit should have never been allowed to be checked into in the state that it was in. We paid close to $900 USD for two nights. At that price point, cleanliness should not be something I'm second-guessing. The listing said there were two bathrooms, which is a bit misleading. There is a toilet and sink downstairs. Upstairs, you have one shower with a sink and another small water closet (toilet and no sink). So learn from my mistake and know that there is only one shower. I feel like this listing should say 1.5 baths instead to accurately depict what the unit has. The WiFi also did not work and we couldn't even get the TV to connect to the internet. I could have asked the host for further assistance but again, we were staying for such a short time and the beach was our main priority, so I didn't bother. However, this could be a big dealbreaker for a lot of people if WiFi reliance is important.

Excellent location 2 blocks from the beach. Easy check in, rental was very clean, kitchen well equipped, toiletries available in the bathroom was a perk! Ample space for 3 adults, big bedrooms. Clean linens- big fluffy towels! Nice outdoor seating areas (balcony accessible by both bedrooms). Beach towels, sand toys, beach chairs and umbrellas easy to take to the beach with beach cart that was available. Ample parking for 2 vehicles. Minimal cleaning required at checkout.

Main full bath is a little weird- toilet in room by itself and sink and shower in another room next to it. (it is manageable but a little strange)

Loved the location and had everything we needed

I did not like that the bedrooms did not have tv. I have to have tv to go to sleep at night and there was no tv in the bedrooms.
