Waterfront Houston Hide out In A Magical Forest

Location made you feel like you were up in the mountains/woods. Very peaceful and beautiful.

Internet wasn’t great. Hard to get cell service at times. But that was the only negative thing.

Overall it is a lovely place to get away from hectic life: The woods, the pond, the house itself. We liked the interior design: The colors and materials (mostly wood and metal). The kitched was organized with a good set of ceramic plates, cups, … and silverware (not plastic). The ground floor is one open space of living room + dining room + kitchen combined. Feels spacious and gemutlich with various seats. Good beds. The water color of the pond is as turquoise as it seems in the pics. The AC runs relatively quiet.

We were a bit unlucky in several respects. But some of them might not apply to other guests: We arrived at night, and with the lights on (nice gesture from hosts and helpful for arrival) the entrance had several beetles on the glass doors and finding their way inside as we unpacked. The neighbors played loud music at night (the cabin is not as isolated as it might seem from the pics). The AC in the master bedroom was dripping, so we had to turn it down. The toilet in the ground floor would not flush. Internet access was slow.
