"A great house ruined by a self-righteous manager with no CS skills. Landlord should fire them."

I was originally going to give this house a rating of 8, until I encountered the self-righteous attitude of the manager at Homestead Modern for the following reasons - House was very tastefully decorated and well appointed, and had most of the required amenities - Removed 2 points because of the very low water pressure, and the power outage and water outage on the final day.

Was never planning to even write a review until we received a message from the manager after our stay stating: "Many people don't know this, but any guest review less than a 5 star (even 4 stars) diminishes the homeowner and our ability to connect with other travelers... If you've had any issues during your stay that cause you to have anything less than a 5 star experience, please let us know before you write a review.." I replied saying that the power outage on the final day wasn't great since we had paid a hefty price for a full 2 night stay and yet we were not actually able to enjoy the spa on the final day. Therefore I'd be unable to provide a 5 star rating. We were indeed warned about this 4 days prior to check-in which stated "Oftentimes, we receive these notices from SCE as simply a warning...and guests don't experience outages or the outage is very brief. In the off-chance that an outage occurs and is longer than expected..." We then received an indignant reply from the manager: - They had warned us about the outage 4 days prior to check in and had received no response from us. - We had checked in to the house "fully knowing that the power will be out on the last day of our stay for a full price". "fully knowing" is a little different to "off-chance". The implication was that this was our problem because we could have cancelled 4 days prior to check in if we couldn't accept this. Note that we had booked this house a full month prior. They sent a subsequent indignant reply with the various warning time-stamps. This time, they said that "..these power outages are very common out here..". Again, very different to the "off-chance" warning before. Note that we never even brought up a complaint. We just replied to their message to say that we were just not planning to give a 5 star rating because this was not a perfect experience.
