Eco-Lodge with hottub sea view Charleton Estate

Stunning location and very peaceful

The stairs are very steep but as long as you take that into account it wasn't an issue, although we decided to just descend backwards for ease! Other than that the lodge was brilliant and we wished we could have stayed longer. The hottub was glorious, sitting under the stars - it does take a while to warm up but do keep an eye regularly on the stove as ours went out, possibly because the wood was so well seasoned it burned quicker than we had expected!

The location was very good. We know the area well and chose the accommodation partly for its location. The hot tub was a nice feature although it took a while to heat up and we also appreciated the sauna. The new clubhouse was good and handy for breakfast provisions.

Having stayed previously which was very good we felt the property was needing some attention now as it was a bit tired in places and required attention. No mirrors in the bedrooms but only in toilets which had no power point for using a hairdryer. No shaver plug in either of the 2 bathrooms that I thought would be almost mandatory for a property to be rented out. Door handle in main bathroom faulty and requiring attention but could not be repaired at time. The bin store on site was messy and untidy and most of the recycling bins were overflowing and so we had to put everything in the main non-recyclable bin.

Nice place for me and 5 other friends, St Andrew close and nice beaches. Had an issue getting fire started for hot tub and messaged the owner and he came straight up to do it for us

Clean and well presented. Beds were comfortable and everything you need kitchen wise was there for you. Bathroom was lovely and a good size. Separate toilet was a benefit. Good quiet location with stunning views right down to the water. Local walks and golf course on the doorstep.

It was a lovely property. With its ecological footprint it was appealing, however, it was cold at night and we struggled to light the log burner. There were very sparse instructions and although we did light it, it didnt stay lit. There was also a lack of instructions for the oven. It would have been helful to hsve had a little more information on these things. In one of the bedrooms, a set of soaking wet and dirty towels were left hanging behind the door. Im sure this was an oversight as the whole place was very clean. All in all this was very nice accommodation.

If the weather was not so good there was limited indoor space. but lots of sheltered outdoor space.
