Few niggles with cleaning standards, No remote for TV in bedroom. Had no staff to give rating about as was self check in. Very noisy landings with doors slamming most of night. Have had much better for money. We have stayed next door at Queens hotel & would have only been £220 for 2 nights including breakfast. Just thought would try an apartment for a change.

Dryer did not work it did not dry clothes. Instructions on how to use washing machine and dryer should be supplied.

My wife and I stayed 6 nights at 19 Woodsmill Quay in York in July 2024. It the apartment is advertised as 'Cozy Riverside Apartment' but a more appropriate name would be 'Claustrophobic Underground bunker' In my 50 years of travelling around the world this experience was far and away the worst I have ever had. Although parking is included in the exorbitant cost, the actual car park is a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Instructions for accessing and finding the car park are very convoluted. The apartment itself consisted of three very small rooms located on the ground floor right next to the building's external access door. On arrival, we immediately noticed that all the apartment's floors were filthy and my wife set about cleaning them. The walls of the living room were also dirty and the walls and ceiling of the tiny bathroom were covered in mould. The toilet seat was lose which made using it very uncomfortable. The bath was also filthy and unbelievably had some kind of plastic filler in several places! There was very little in the way of kitchen utensils, cups and glasses and in fact we had to buy a cutlery set as there were no knives at all! The drying functionality within the washing machine did not work so we were unable to wash any clothes during our stay. The TV remote control also did not function so we had to use the TV manual switches. The noise from other users of the building was very loud and continued on some nights into the early hours of the next morning. We booked the apartment through Booking.com at a total cost of 830 GB pounds for 6 nights! We have complained to Booking.com and asked for compensation but they have claimed no responsibility.

Property was very clean and comfortable. Perfect location central to everything. Host was very helpful which made our stay even better. Definitely will be booking again in the very near future. Highly recommend.

Great apartment with full self catering facilities

Had everything we would need for the night, it was clean and access to it was easy, we didn’t use the free parking as it was a 15 min walk we just paid to park at the bottom of the street for convenience, but the free parking is a great extra that a lot of places wouldn’t offer.

We couldn’t find the TV remote and the hot water went off but we managed to get it back on it just took a while to heat up again

The apartment was nice and clean although the cups and glasses I took out of the cupboard to use sadly weren't clean I suggested asking the cleaner to check.I was sent the check in info in plenty of time which was great as other properties hadn't done that,there were heaters in and just needed turning on at the wall and a towel rail in the bathroom so glad it worked as it was quite cold in there and I planned to have a bath before my evening out seeing friends sadly ran it about 2 inches deep but no hot water it said to press a boost button if not enough hot water but I didn't have time to wait l had to go without a bath and get ready which was frustrating I was looking forward to it,2 little pods for the coffee machine ,milk sachets and a little biscuit and 2 bottles of water in the fridge had been left and I found 3 canisters of tea,coffee and sugar in a cupboard I only tried the sugar it was very hard to remove the lid maybe not used for a while?4 towels were left on the bed personally I think larger ones would suit people better but appreciate they were left and tea towels washing up liquid and a sponge also the wifi details were sent to me and in the apartment too I was given a contact phone number I didn't use it as was late when I couldn't get Netflix to work so just watched TV in the end .

There were a few niggles more than what I didn't like most stated above also I did bang my legs a few times on the bedframe the bedroom isn't very big and the bed is wooden and quite low so there isn't much room to move around the end of the bed for getting dressed etc or using the full length mirror but a clean ,pleasant property to stay overnight in there was noise above me but when I returned about midnight it was quiet and that's what mattered to me.
