Studio apartments on a hill

Before booking this place, I read many reviews and was not sure about it. Yes, the pictures posted are completely far away from the reality. The place is in fact quite old and lacks of refurbishment (only outside, inside the rooms are ok). However, because I will be away outside most of the time with my rental motobike, I decided to give it a go. I mean I stayed in worser place in coastal cities in Thailand, what can be worth than this. It turned out that it was not as bad as I thought. With this price and located in the Kathu district, which connects the city of Phuket and Patong Beach, i think it is worth the money. While the building looks old and lacks of maintenance, the room I stayed is quite comfortable. Not as nice as the 5-star hotel of course but it was clean and contains all the things needed for solo traveller on the budget. The small pool is in good condition although i did not try. The atmosphere is quiet and the view is great as the building sits on the hill behind a university. Even though you do not have a motobike, walking down to the main road to get a share ride should not be a problem. I am sharing the realistic photos. PS. If you have read other comments about the hotel charging you for water and electricity, that is probably because they stay on "monthly rental basis". And it is quite common in Thailand if you rent the apartment/room on monthly basis and you will be responsible for those utilities. I stayed as a hotel lodger for a few nights and everything was included.

The only thing that really made my stay very nice, are the receptionist, his name is Ace. I think he is the only one reallt working there, but excellent job for someone who runs a whole block of apartments by himself.

Where do I even start? Probably more angry at myself for nit reading the review of this place. the photos are totally misleading. These picture are probably taken many years ago, and it does not look like the pictures on Booking.com. Please, people when I say this, I mean it. Here’s the funniest part, it’s not even a hotel anymore, it changed into an Apartment bulding. So, obviously no restaurant, no breakfast. There was a pool, but who wants to swim when there’s people living around you, hanging their personal laundry there. I’d say I felt like crying when I saw the place, because there were other resorts cheaper than this place who were in much better condition than this. I did contact Booking.com about this and they’re working on either taking it off or atleast update the photos.

Very quiet location and comfy bed.

I booked and paid in advance for a super deluxe room with a garden view, but they gave me a deluxe room with a garden view which was smaller. The room hadn't been cleaned properly. There was a kettle and water, but nothing else like tea/coffee, so what it the point of having a kettle? The security door chain plate was the wrong way round, so it was no use. The floor in the shower for the pool and the surrounding area was mouldy. Roof terraces hasn't been touched for ages, as there was grass/weeds growing on all of them. The whole place is run down. I did try sort the room problem out, but through a message from the owner, he classes any room with a garden view is classed as a super deluxe room. This not stated on Booking.com, and clearly shows 2 different rooms at different prices. Will be taking this further.
