Villa Remo by Hotel Galvani

The pools , big TV , it was clean, the lake view from the room.

Beautiful setting, amazing views from the top pool and pool bar area. Great to have another outdoor heated pool, and an indoor one also. Rooms were fantastic, very large and immaculately clean. Housekeeping are excellent. Parking was easy and the location for the beautiful village of Torri del Benaco was just right. Free use of the many hotel mountain bikes was a nice perk. Didn't catch the lady on reception's name, but she was excellent and friendly. The other reception staff were decidedly grumpy most of the time. Pool bar guy was very friendly and professional too.

The reception and breakfast area is very dated compared to the rest of the hotel - dimly lit and not very inviting. The rest of the hotel is ultra-modern, so it's a big clash. Charging 2 euros for bottled water in the room when you're paying nearly £300 a night seemed a bit penny pinching. The pool bar being shut at random times, despite apparently being open until 12pm every night. Strange to find it shut at 5pm a couple of nights. Same with popping into the main bar one evening, and no member of staff to be found. There's no ironing boards or irons in the hotel. You have to request to go into the laundry room in the basement (and it is a basement!) and use the housekeeping facilities, which is frankly weird!

We were excited to find 3 pools and one indoor and a beautiful terrace at the top of the hotel. Breakfast was good, great bread and pastries.

We couldn't deadlock the door of our room which I didn't like. Getting to the parking was a very steep bumpy path and difficult to get out of. Our room was set back which meant the view was pretty limited
