GJ House in Esperanza, Poro, Camotes

We had an amazing time. Glace opened her beautiful home to us, with a superb room and a fantastic pool. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the evening meal, and the breakfast. Glace and James are a charming and passionate couple. We loved it. Thank you for everything 😊

Glades, the host went above and beyond in ensuring we had the best experience. The meals that Glades cooked for us were so delicious. Bedroom enormous and bathroom facilities modern and clean. Loved the pool. It was so clean and beautifully tiled. Best pool I have ever been in. So private. Highly recommend. Glades guided us where to walk around Esperanza and anything else we needed to know. Thank you Glades and James too.

GJ House, Esperanza, Poro, Camotes—A Hidden Gem with the Kindest Hearts I can honestly say my stay at GJ House was one of the most heartwarming experiences I've ever had.The hosts are absolute gems—beautiful people inside and out,with a natural gift for making guests feel at home.From the moment I arrived,they treated me like family,not just a visitor.My trip didn't start as planned.I had just gone through the end of a long relationship,and honestly,I was a bit lost when I got to the island.But these wonderful people immediately filled that emotional void.They weren't just gracious hosts—they became friends,even counsellors in a way,always checking in,making sure I was okay,and asking if I needed anything at all.Their kindness and warmth were genuine,the type that you don't forget.They went above and beyond in every possible way—meeting me at the ferry,making sure I had all the snacks and drinks I requested ready when I arrived,and even offering rides whenever I needed to get somewhere.Their home itself is spotless,peaceful,and full of character.The room was private and comfortable,with everything you'd expect from a top-rated stay—soft linens,plenty of towels,great aircon,and a relaxing outdoor area with a pool that I unfortunately didn't take enough advantage of.Breakfast was fantastic—homemade healthy breads,fresh fruits and vegetables,eggs,bacon,and specialty coffee.They even offer a full menu of beautifully prepared meals that can be cooked fresh on short notice.I regret not trying more because breakfast was excellent.They also went out of their way to include me in local life—introducing me to their friends,inviting me to events,and sharing all the best places to eat and explore around the island.In fact,through them I met someone who I now consider a lifelong friend.The location is peaceful and quiet,a little removed from the busier parts of Camotes,which was exactly what I wanted.I never wanted to leave—these hosts are made for this!

The only downside was having to leave this island paradise and these incredible hosts behind. I was tempted to extend my stay indefinitely! In fact, I'm planning to retire on Camotes—maybe even as their neighbor someday!

The owners of this property treated my gf and I so kind and were very helpful in our needs. Good food, good wine, comfortable bed, beautiful view. Very peaceful place with amazing decor.
