Everything was terrible

Location was perfect, proximity to the stadium hosting the marathon i was doing and very close to restaurants. The area is also peaceful and quite.

There was a misunderstanding regarding check out time. I requested extension at the time of booking online, as i was running a marathon and finishing after normal checkout time and it was duly granted. So i was very upset when i came back from the run, very exhausted from my first ever full marathon, walking like a duck and looking forward to a warm shower but instead one of the ladies greeted me with a rather harsh demand for top up payment for checking out late. As a matter of principle i declined to top up and asked that the owner give me a call and further decided to leave immediately instead of taking a well deserved shower. The owner says she did not agree when i followed up on a telephone call immediately after booking few days earlier, contrary to the extension being granted online. I however assured the owner that i will gladly pay the top up for late checkout irrespective of online approval, if she can produce a recording that confirms we spoke about it which i did not recall. She rather elected to let go even when i insisted that i would like to pay. At some point before arrival, my initial booking was cancelled as i had used a debit card and i re-booked using a credit card with the same request and again it granted. So i was not sure where i went wrong. I however will go back as i feel it was all a misunderstanding and can be used a teachable moment for all concerned.

Roooms are very small.

I liked that it met the standard guesthouse requirements for appeal and cleanliness. Comfortable beds and a functional room.

The reception is very poor. We have to sign long documents that make no sense before we are checked in. We were not given our own remotes for the gate and were trapped in the vicinity for the entire night. The owner of the guesthouse was of no use. Called her multiple times to get someone to open the gate for me since I didn't have a remote and no action. The window allows too much light to enter during the night and it was very difficult to sleep. We had to cover it over with the fleece that was on the bed. The mirror in the bathroom is too high up and we shorter people could not reach it to view ourselves. We had to use the chair and climbed on that. The staff are too noisy in the morning as people are still asleep. No consideration for the fact that there are guests that may be asleep.
