Red Sun Beach Villa Kosgoda

We had a lovely time here! The staff is very nice and prepared varying breakfasts every day. The sound of the ocean makes a comfortable white noise.

The staff is very good and helpful. They wanted to manage the problem. They are really kind. But the owner of the place kelly was really violence and behavior is very aggressive.Then we couldn’t find another accommodation suddenly in the night. So disappointed. we faced lot of troubles because of her

unfortunately the owner Kelly she is screaming loudly and running fully naked around us and the premise. (We have the pictures and photos to proof this) Also loudly shouting Really sad about this situation and this is not suitable to accommodate to anyone here . Also we are writing this to the booking.com community. Not suitable to stay and really unsafe.

I absolutely enjoyed staying at this villa, with its open spaces surrounded by trees in which monkeys were feeling at home, playing, eating... The pool felt really nice to cool off, breakfast was served with care, and the staff was super attentive, kind and friendly. There's attention to detail all around the property. The beach is a few steps away, and there's a feeling of wilderness about it, which I enjoyed as I try to stay away from the crowds.

The owner and her staff were just lovely and couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. The villa and pool and garden is a beautiful oasis and we would definitely return again. There is a beautiful almost deserted beach on the doorstep and a chance to pop into the turtle hatchery and see all the good work they do

Our only small criticism was the shower as it was very poor in terms of pressure and getting warm/hot water.

Beautifully designed and well thought-out small hotel just a step away from a dream beach. Really nice pool (area). Very quiet. Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing, too. And most importantly, Kelly was super nice hostess and the staff was very friendly. Food in the restaurant on the beach was yummy. You cannot ask for more.

Luxurious villa by the ocean. Beautiful beach, which is a few steps away, and on which there are almost no people. Heavenly views, very friendly staff, delicious and healthy breakfast. The villa has an atmosphere conducive to meditation. Guests have at their disposal a swimming pool with the option of hydromassage. Water, fridge, tea. After leaving the room, we could stay longer in the facility to enjoy the sunny day and rest. It was very nice of the owner. Great price-quality ratio.

We stayed at this villa for 5 days. Let me start with the positives: — We liked the location of the villa. You will truly feel secluded, as there are very few people on this part of the beach. — The villa staff, Jayanta and Charith, were kind, responsive, and welcoming. Thank you to them. — The room was clean, and the bed linen was white and fresh, which is rare for Sri Lanka. The common areas were also pleasant. — The breakfasts were quite specific, but overall, you can find something to your liking.

Overall, everything was fine—until the last day. On the last day of our stay at the villa, the owner, Kelly, started behaving inappropriately. We suspect she was intoxicated. Around 2 p.m., she began running around the villa grounds, shouting profanities like “F## you,” “I will not,” and “I don’t care.” She was howling, screaming, and breaking various items on the property. It was extremely frightening. She yelled at her staff, and no one could calm her down. We were on the second floor and didn’t dare to come downstairs because of this. This went on for several hours. Then she fell asleep in the common area on a couch. Later, she woke up, and it all started again—screaming, yelling, and destroying things. Even late at night, she continued screaming. Early the next morning (our departure day), Kelly was shouting again and acting strangely. When we were having breakfast, she simply said, “Good morning,” and acted as if everything was fine. I am not sure if staying at this place is safe, and I cannot imagine what would happen if someone were staying there with children during such an incident. We were in shock and ready to leave immediately, but since it was our last day and we had specific plans, we stayed. However, we couldn’t sleep properly that last night because of what happened. I also have a video of the incident. I ask Booking to pay attention to this matter.

We booked this accommodation only 15 min in advance due to tuktuk difficulties, but they did their very best to have everything ready for the night and breakfast. They were very kind. Good location next to a local restaurant and a turtle reservation with super kind local men that showed us a beautiful peace of beach. The rooms itself are basic but have a lot of animals.

There was no hot water and the bathroom was not that clean.

The Villa is open and spacious and has a really relaxed feel to it. Jayantha and the owners are so welcoming and want nothing more then to make your stay special.

I liked everything and could not find any faults worth mentioning.

We loved the vegetation around the villa and the beautiful beach nearby. Jayantha could not have been nicer, made us feel very much at home.

Pity it is not possible to have dinner at the villa - unless you cook your own.
