INI stayed in Oakakhi Stays with my family for one night. As the name means "in the lap of Oak trees" in Kumaoni language (as I learnt from Mr Nishant Sati, the owner), it was truly so. The Homestay is nestled in the pine and oak forested hills and offers a splendid view of the Nanda Devi range on a clear day. Mr Nishant and his staff go all the way out to make the stay of the guests comfortable, notwithstanding the difficulties of managing logistics in this slightly remote location including the fabulous home-cooked meals. We had a memorable experience and would like to stay here again.
INIts meant for those visitors who dont mind a bit of trecking. Its good for those who like to enjoy nature to its closest.
There was nothing that i did not like. The owner is an awesome guy. Very tasty food. all is good. But its not a Luxiorious experience. If you are looking only for comfort, then you may be a bit disappointed.
INLocation is very good, need a proper access road so that elderly persons also can stay.
