"I really appreciate that I’ve learned more about my country and the diversity of its culture."

8.0

The couple owners are very hospitable. The wife walked me around the village to introduce their culture and the daily life activities. I played with the kids in the village, they gave me a lot of fruits hahaha. I and the family had dinners in both days of my staying and we even played cards together. I’m feeling like I’m a part if their family. Since I’ve learned about the culture of this Black Hmong community, in return, I shared my observation, experience, and knowledge with them. I taught their kid to solve her homework. Fortunately, I did bring a pack of instant noodles, a bag of snack, and tea bought in Taiwan. I shared it with the kids, the owners, and their children. Definitely will come back to visit this place.

"An absolute gem"

10.0

We had the most wonderful stay with A Hang and his family. He arranged a pick-up and drop-off from/to town for us and we were welcomed by the whole family. The room is lovely furnished and decorated, even with fresh flowers! The view is amazing, the village is very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely family dinner, fresh breakfast and even took a 2h walk through the villages with A Hang the next morning. He speaks very good English and loves to share his knowledge and the culture of his people. We wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful place with these heartwarming people. Thank you so much for this real and authentic experience!

Hoa Phong homestay is one of the best places to spend a night or two in the beautiful and peaceful village of Ta So. Of course, one shouldn't expect luxury but the facilities are excellent considering that this is a remote village high up in the mountains of north western Vietnam. Apart from the facilities, another thing that impressed me and my wife is the friendliness of the host, A Hang, and his wife, Y Hoa. He spoke good English and was more than ready to help us arrange a taxi to fetch us from town (and back to town) and assisted us to communicate with our transportation provider to Hanoi (note that English is seldom understood in that part of Vietnam). He also took us around his village and gave us a glimpse of the villagers' life. Oh, and not to forget, we enjoyed the delicious dinner and breakfast his family prepared for us. Truly a great place to visit if one is looking for something different from the usual tourist spots in northern Vietnam.

"Super hosts, clean room, nice location, Hmong-village"

9.0

A-Hang and his wife Y-Hoa are great hosts! They care about their guests in a very nice way and make us feel a little bit like part of their huge family with four generations. They picked us up at the bus station in Moc Chau by motorbikes, fix our luggage and drove us all the way uphill (about 30 minutes) and after our stay back to Moc Chau. A-Hang showed us two days his village and the landscape around, two wonderful trekking tours. He told us a lot about the tradition of the Hmongs. He is able to talk in english, sometimes with google translator ;-) We have had very delicious traditional dinner at her home, an old Hmong-House. The Homestay-House with the two double bedroom is reachable by a way through the plum trees and a "natural stoned stairway". It is builded in someway Hmong-style and very clean. We can recommend this homestay to people, who love the nature and want to learn, how the Hmong-people live on the countryside. If we will be once again in Moc Chau, we will be happy to stay again in this homestay of A Hang, Y Hoa and their family.

Please don't expect a "western-style-hotel": the mattresses are hard like a plank, the floor in the bathroom is wet after using the tap and the wall between the two rooms is out of wood and open under the roof, so you hear everything from your neighbours. But all these things are normal in Vietnam!!
