Pumbaa Farmhouse + Cottages

Gracias a Bev y su equipo por todas sus atenciones y amabilidad, que han hecho que nuestra estancia fuera maravilllosa. Un lugar precioso y con mucha tranquilidad. .

Property is beautiful, ppl working were trying their best. But the accommodation which we booked (whole cottage for $900 for a group of 4 ppl for 2 nights) had no hot water to accommodate all 4, and in the end we ended up with running water. Something wrong with water supply which apparently had never happened before. Unexpected crisis’ can happen, but property owner or manager lacked minimum awareness required for adequate response. Response from the property owner or manager was something we never experienced in our collective travel experiences all across the world. No contact available for crisis as according to the person responsible as, “it is not a 24/7 B&B.” When we asked for taxis to seek with basic accommodation with running water, we were met with a long discussion session at 11:00 pm. Overall quite a unique experience. This property should not be in the hospitality business even as a “not 24/7 bed and breakfast.” Why we paid $900 for a 2-night stay? The place was peaceful and clean. The host was very nice and made us a really beautiful breakfast. She put hot bottle warmers in our beds as well to make it more cozy. She was checking in on us periodically just to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

Everything was perfect!

To begin, Ms. Bev was a beautiful soul, she was kind and patient. She allowed me to snoop all around the property and see animals that were behind the gate. Upon check-in it wasn't communicated through bookin.com that I had already paid the balance prior to arrival. So that was on booking.com not the host. She showed me how the cottage worked and how everything was at the tips of my finger tips. The water was hot and she gave reccommendations for tourist attractions in the city. I ate at Tamalis and the staff were wonderful. Thank you for that recommendation. She allowed me to use the pool whenever I pleased and it was heated since I went during the August timeframe (Africa's winter). I took fruit fromt he cottage and was able to feed the puimbas and bamboons who were down the road. little animals would come to the door to say, so keep your door shut hehe. They gave me a bottle of wine upon request since the ones stagged were dry. Every request, the staff was more than accommadating. Ms. Bev and the staff even allowed me to utilized the outdoot tub that was not included in my cottage but since there weren't any extra guests during my stay a basicalluy had te entire place to myself, the staff cleaned and ran the bath for me. I am so pleased and satisfied with my visit to Pumba Farmhouse and cottages, I will be back. As my first trip to Africa I avery pleased, especially since they gave me breakfast every morning. You all were sop thoughful,. every tip was well deserved. They even offered shuttle services around the country/whereever I needed to go. I used uber mostly but it was still nice of them to offer. Thank you Ms. Bev! She even allowed me to check in several hours prior to check in. So grateful 🙏🏾

Beautifully kept property and immaculately clean. The garden, pool, and view from the terrace was spectacular! Bev was also extremely friendly and helpful, as were her staff. Breakfast was delicious, too! We also loved that we could walk to Hemingways Eden for a meal or drink. Very close to popular attractions such as giraffe centre, elephant orphanage, and the Karen Blixen museum. Pumbaa is just as beautiful of a property for a fifth of the prices of similar accommodations in the area. It’s a no brainer - if you’re staying in Karen, book Pumbaa!

Design of the property and grounds are stunning, very relaxing and tranquil. Absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Nairobi Bev is an excellent host and even made us a breakfast to go as we left very early for the airport Will definitely be back!
