Casa Amari alla Zisa HOSTEL

The host is very lovely and caring. Hot shower and wifi. The host gave recommendations and advice on what to do and how which was lovely. BUT

We weren’t allowed access to the promised communal area and balcony for most my stay. Kitchen was also often closed off. Only one operating bathroom and toilet combined. The area seems extremely dangerous I wouldn’t recommend for any solo female travellers. Quiet hours not respected, the host barged into our room at 11pm looking for someone which seems inappropriate. It is quite far from the train station. Water maybe not potable…? I was advised but the host not to drink it

Super friendly host and beautiful view from Balcony

A very comfortable hostel at the heart of Palermo that really makes you feel at home. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the space is always clean and tidy, and the balcony has the prettiest view. Manuela and Giuseppe are the best hosts one could ask for <3

The hosts of Casa Amari are wonderful and provide an excellent Sicilian experience! They were really friendly and even took some of the guests on a tour of the city and showed us local spots around town. The facilities at the property were great too- comfortable bed, clean bathroom and cute little terrace.

Nice homely little hostel right in the center of town

I had a good bed and bathroom.

There were no lockers or structure for safety, plus there were no curtains in the bed for privacy or anything similar. There was no refrigerator to store any food. No kitchen nor living room.

Two things: the owner allowed me to do the check in early in the morning instead of the normal hour and she gave me a blanket because it was cold at night.

There is only a bathroom for everyone which was not cleaned in one week. The shower is broken so the height is on your hip approximately. The system to open and close the apartment and the building is a shared key between all the guest. The owner writes to you at inappropriate hours with scary messages like nothing happens (" if you see this man , he is an stalker you don't know me "). Also she wrote to me in a rude manner accusing me of breaking things and leaving garbage and a mess but it wasn't me and I wasn't the only in the room. Moreover, there is a guest that keeps track of what you do to inform the owner. And of course the booking photos are not accurate.
