The location is fantastic! And easy to find. Bit of a walk from the train station if you are into that. I loved seeing the square from the window, the theatre and all the buzz for the Festa das Cruces without being in the middle of it. It’s a short walk away from any restaurant and service in the city closest restaurant being just below. The shopping street ends here so it’s really a perfect location. Grocery store, the Pottery museum and the river are also just a few minutes walk away. Unlike in many other code system venues I had no trouble with these doors - it was quite handy really. I didn’t want cleaning mid stay but they left me towels when I needed them. The kitchen has very basic cooking stuff like a pot and a pan and some dishware but it was enough for my needs. The bed was comfortable for a normal sized person. Im not much of a breakfast person but it’s just down the street and you can get started with it but it’s a small coffee shop style breakfast so don’t expect some grand hotel buffet. There are some details that could improve this location but more about that below.

I was slightly disappointed about the clenliness level. In venues with kitchens it’s extra tricky that the fridge, cupboard doors and dishes would be spotless and that wasn’t the case here either. I was more occupied by stains in the toilet and bath towel but i gave the surfaces a good wipe and got some new towels that were spotless - problem solved. Now if you are a light sleeper this venue is not for you - the floors squeak and other guests stomp around like there’s no tomorrow and on first floor you can almost hear what is being discussed at the dinner table but with my scehdule and ear plugs i wasn’t too troubled by it. If I would have wanted to sleep in I would have been more annoyed by it. The kitchen doesn’t have sharp knives or basic stuff like olive oil, salt and pepper to get the cooling staryed but for some snacking business it’ll do the job. They are also happy to help you with stuff you might need so don’t be shy to ask the reception or the coffee shop where the staff is the same.
