The Loft at Craigmill House

Exceptional place. Great for couples with a dog as lovely secure garden/courtyard to sit out and let dogs play a little, if they have any left over energy from exploring.

Location and quality of amenities

A lovely find on our Scottish journey. Very peaceful and quiet with everything we needed. Very comfy bed and situated just on the edge of Blairgowrie overlooking the river.

It looked clean then that 1st night the bedroom wall was full of dampness I've got pic to prove it, also there was aweets stuck under the couch, no hot water abd qst night was cold, I wouldn't want to go back

Excellent location: quiet, with a short drive to shops and restaurants, and nice walks nearby. Easy parking. The hosts have put a lot of thought into the furnishing, decor and facilities of the property, and have created a very comfortable environment, which is actually more spacious than it appears from the photos. Although the apartment is part of a larger house where the hosts live, it felt completely private. We had booked over the Christmas holidays, and a very nice touch was the provision of a Christmas tree, plus a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate treats. The dogs were also well provided for. Wifi was good, except in the bedroom, probably because the walls were so thick. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. It wasn't a problem for us, but anyone with a mobility issue will need to be aware that the apartment is accessed by steep stairs, and that the shower is over the bath, which might cause some access difficulty. That aside, we would thoroughly recommend the property.

Although we very much enjoyed our stay, we can't give it a perfect rating for two main reasons. The TV signal was dire, so we resorted to streaming on a laptop. Other than the individual radiator thermostat controls, which were mostly difficult to access, there was no way of regulating the heating. We were therefore too hot during the day, but cold at night when the heating went off - although this was only for the last few nights, when the weather turned very chilly! As with any property, there were some other minor niggles, but nothing that would put us off staying here again.
