Blue Birdhouse - Indiana Dunes - Pet Friendly

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and thought the house was very cute and charming. It was generally clean, comfortable, and had a lot of potential as a vacation rental.

Unfortunately, there were a few issues that impacted our experience. The most significant was a serious ant infestation throughout the property. In addition, it appeared the basement had recently flooded after a storm. There were puddles of water in several areas of the basement, and the rugs in front of the washer and dryer were completely soaked. The yard also seemed to need some attention and maintenance, as it was a bit overgrown and not as well-kept as expected.

The house was a cozy place to stay—we are glad we opted for this instead of camping as the weather was wet & chilly. This home is pet-friendly with no additional fees, and the fenced-in yard was really nice to have for our dogs. Laundry was an added bonus, too.

We noticed a very strong air freshener smell and realized it was the decorative pillows on the bed. They must use Febreeze or something similar, so not great for people who are sensitive to scents/perfumes. We had to close the pillows in a closet to rid the room of the smell. The couch & pillows could use some sprucing up as there are visible stains.

Very cozy and quaint property

We liked the house very much. Love the fenced in yard for dogs, most places charge more for pets and here was no upcharge. Enjoyed the fire pit and patio furniture. Bird decor was nice. Was very reasonably priced. I would stay here again.

Minor issue but there are no lids for the pots and pans. We needed to make rice. Otherwise was nicely stocked with kitchen accessories.

It was close to where I had plans.

The place was very comfortable, well set up, and exceptionally clean! It had everything we needed and the host went above and beyond to communicate with me while I was traveling! Highly recommended!
