"Great location but lacked a few features that would have been appreciated"

5.0

The location of this house was great so we enjoyed being able to walk anywhere in old San Juan. Most of houses in Old San Juan are over 200 years old which this one probably is too. They have interesting styles and features such as very high ceilings on the first floor and some interior arches which this one has.

Like almost all of the houses in old San Juan, this one has no windows on the sides and none on the first floor on the street side. This limits air flow and, combined with no air conditioning on the first floor, results in a stuffy feeling in the living area and kitchen. The bedrooms do have air conditioning. To get to the bedrooms, you need to climb a tight circular stairway with many steps, since the top floor is about the height of a third floor due to the very high ceilings of the first floor. The shower in our bathroom had no light and a very slippery floor so we had to be very careful as we used it, but it did its job. The kitchen only had the bare essentials so that encouraged us to eat out.

So many things were close by. Food, market, site seeing.

Bathrooms were dirty.
