Le Prieuré Chambres d'hôtes

Wonderful place to stay for one night and we could have stayed for more! Large room with some great communal areas. The pool is nice and the games room entertaining! We ate dinner at the sister hotel restaurant which was outstanding! Also very friendly for our dog; excellent walking and lots of space to run!

Having to travel to the sister hotel restaurant for breakfast was frustrating - especially as several items from the buffet had already gone by 9.30. What was there was great though!

It should be noted the chambres d’hôtes is a little drive away from the house and restaurant. We could have done with some fresh milk at breakfast.

We booked here because we had already stayed at the Domaine De Barive a month before and wanted to try this place. However, as soon as we booked we were called and told we would stay at the Domaine instead. I think that they use this place as a sort of overflow. At the Domaine we were given a much nicer room than the previous time. On Booking a night at each place that night cost the same except at the Priuré breakfast was included, so we stayed in the Domaine with breakfast and were very happy. It is a very nice place. By the way the prices at these two places vary a lot depending on the night in question.

The restaurant is not open seven days a week but they can cater for you when it is not. However, if you don't eat or want meat, there is virtually nothing. That is a shame in 2024 and also a bit surprising. We would have been happy to eat if there had been some real vegetarian choices not just the odd token one.
