Westenfield One Bedroom Apartment, with Beach Access, Malindi

Patrick and Jemimah were extremely helpful through the entire check-in process. There was plenty of water, tea, coffee and cookies to welcome the guest, which was a very nice touch that is not available in most places.

The exterior of the property is still undergoing some work, so the initial impression before getting into the unit is skewed by this. However, this changes as soon as one gets into the unit

The place was immaculately clean and the pool was lovely and refreshing. Our host Patrick was particularly responsive and helpful in answering any of our questions and providing any recommendations.

I can highly recommend this place. The apartment is very large and nicely decorated. The property is situated directly at the beach and has a very large swimmingpool. The atmosphere of the place is very positive and i will gladly return.

Great location, just a few step from the beach. it has a big swimming pool. the apartment is spacious, with beautiful interiors. The most crucial part is the host. Patrick is very helpful and kind. His attitude made the stay totally stress free and the holiday was just that - the time to rest and enjoy.

Patrick is a great host. He answered my text messages quickly and let us check in early. The room is a new, very clean apartment with a comfortable bed and hot shower. It also has a well stocked kitchen. It is excellent value for money, and I will stay here again if I'm back in Malindi.

This is a truly beautiful apartment. It is large, well-equipped and tastefully decorated-- seemingly brand new and definitely the finest apartment we have ever rented on Booking.com. It would be an excellent apartment for a long-term stay. I hope that all future guests keep the apartment in great shape. The building itself is in transition. It looks a little run down from the outside, but people seem to be converting the former hotel into condominiums. This apartment is finished, but others are works in progress and it shows outside. The complex is beside a beach which is nice. It seems to be a secure location. It is also within walking distance of DaGama's pillar and the Portuguese chapel. There is a good restaurant up the beach for lunch and dinner, and a place to eat breakfast in a Swahili restaurant across from the Portuguese chapel. It was difficult for us to find it when we first arrived. It is located in the Oasis Village in Malindi. The tuk-tuk drivers will know where it is if you tell them that. It is best to contact the owner a little ahead of time before you get there so you can get more specific directions. In general, it was a very good stay and the minor complaints I have were more than overbalanced by the quality of the apartment.

I have only minor complaints. The apartment was advertised as having a pool view and a sea view as of July, 2024. You cannot see either of those from the apartment, so those advantages should not be advertised. Also, the pool really wasn't usable when we stayed there. There were people who seemed to be working on it, so maybe in the future it will be available. The owner is not yet equipped with a credit card machine, so we had to pay cash. Kenyan citizens will be able to pay with Mpesa, but most foreigners will not have that and will need to pay cash-- something we prefer not to do because of the ATM fees associated with getting cash. Check future reviews to see if this policy is still in place if it matters to you. The mattress seemed to have a plastic cover, although I didn't actually check. That made it a little less comfortable than it could have been. The apartment has only been available for a short time, so I would guess that all of these issues will be corrected in the future. The owner seems very helpful and eager to make the experience of the guest as good as the quality of the apartment.
