Calypso Inn Wilton Gay Male Resort

This property is right near the heart of Wilton Manors. Easy walking distance to be able to get to the nightlife. At the same time this place is very secluded and quiet. Absolutely one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on and the pool was absolutely perfect.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything I didn’t like about this property. I would say there’s definitely some improvements that could be made, as I talk to the owner, he mentioned fixing the gate entrance. That’s something I would agree, it’s a little difficult or challenging your first time but then once you get the hang of it, the gate is totally fine.

This is a wonderfully quirky retreat that is quite the treat! Wes was a terrific host with all the grace and charm of Southern hospitality. He really took care of me, even tho I got there much later than planned, showing me around his tropical resort. When have you had a host even show you where the ice machine and your bucket are? Really an outstanding innkeeper. Wes is warm, kind and caring. This inn has just a few rooms that are almost like little cottages. You have plenty of privacy! Wes and his partner have made the Calypso inviting, comfortable and INTERESTING! This place defines Quirky! It is full of festive color and foliage and unusual touches. For instance, the breakfast room and kitchen are intriguing. There is a neon coffee sign, a beautiful multi-hued backsplash and (of course) an amazing chandelier in the kitchen. The pool is tucked away in the back and offers a sense of getting away from it all. The whole place is like a Caribbean island resort. The location is excellent - right in the center of the Wilton Manors area of Ft. Lauderdale. It's just steps away from a load of nightlife - excellent restaurants and sizzling clubs. It's not too far to the beaches, either. Really, the hospitality, the location and the unusual tropical atmosphere make the Calypso Inn my go-to-getaway in South Florida. I suggest booking asap because the few rooms fill up fast.

The front gate sticks. You need to watch your step at night in a couple of places where the path is uneven. I can't really think of anything else.
