"Very relaxing stay in awesome surroundings"

10.0

The location was brilliant and very picturesque. The house was very modern and had all the necessary equipment for an exceptional stay. There were plenty of places to walk and enjoy the outdoors and the whole estate was well organised and well kept. We would definitely recommend this property and will hopefully return in the future.

Signage was a bit difficult to see, especially when arriving in the dark

"Nice place just needs some TLC on decor, furniture & fly screens"

8.0

Nice open property, bathrooms where good and scenery is really nice. Beds are comfy and plenty of storage for clothes.

With it being next to the lake, you think there would be fly screens on the doors and windows but there wasn’t so I bought some and left them at the property. That was the biggest issue with flies but also bin collection as there was no information in the booklet about this so the general waste bin was full for the entire week we was there. Could do with some better garden/decking furniture as it’s just two seats and it’s a 4 person property.

Very spacious. Beautiful view.

Furniture for 4 people on the deck/balcony would have been good.

"Otters Cove - The perfect, relaxing, luxurious holiday in Northumberland with amazing views."

10.0

Otters Cove is an impressive, luxurious property with very comfortable bedrooms and living area, fantastic showers, and is in an absolutely stunning location with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding hills from all angles. It was so peaceful staying right on the lake with only lambs and 2 friendly swans for our neighbours. No sight or sound of any cars, we didn't want to leave! This is the best property we've stayed in during numerous trips to Northumberland and it was a dream weekend away at Otters Cove with lovely sunny weather to really compliment our stay. We never got tired of walking into the living area and seeing the fabulous view from the enormous window. From the property, we visited Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, and Beadnell without too much travelling. If visiting Bamburgh, we recommend the newly opened Bamburgh Walled Gardens, a lovely garden cafe and magical castle themed playground with beautiful sensory gardens. This property was even more impressive in real life than we expected, and the views sitting out on the large balcony looking at the lake were breathtaking. We loved every minute of being at Otter's Cove.

With the propery sleeping 4 people, seating for 4 people on the balcony rather than just 2 people would be nice so that everyone can sit outside and enjoy the views together. Also, comfier seats outside would really make it a perfect place to relax on a sunny day. The kettle looked like it could do with an upgrade, but everything else in the kitchen was to a very good standard with lots of fridge/ freezer and surface space and some essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar and dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid/handwash were provided along with lovely clean, soft towels and bedding.

"Absolutely loved our stay and would love to return again."

Very spacious and accommodated dogs which was brilliant. Very quiet and the log burners was amazing. I know it was August but we just had to test it out.

Not enclosed but I guess that is due to building restrictions.

"Stunning location but some 'functional' things to be ironed out"

7.0

Stunning, quiet location overlooking small lake. One does not see the other property 'Boathouse'. Modern, big lounge area and bedrooms a very good size.

While in a stunning location this place feels like it has some 'functional' things to iron out.... Route marking - not easy to find. There are two ways to come in, one of which there is no signs to Middleton Hall Estate. Kitchen - there is only one useable pot (there is a second pot but with a vastly too big lid. Bizarre). The keys for the long windows in the lounge area were missing, so unable to open them. The iron is terrible - a cheap & nasty thing that leaks and does not steam. The bathrooms were suboptimal clean - hair on the floor etc. In summary - if you here for one night the stunning location is enough, but if you come for longer be prepared to find some annoying bits.
