Stevenage Studios - Superior Suite

Bedsit with an en suite bathroom. Enough room for a single traveller. Useful well equipped kitchen area. Parking on street outside.

Situated on a residential estate, a little way from shops and amenities.

This was an awful place it should be advertised as being in a residential street. The bathroom hadn’t even been cleaned and had skid marks in the toilet. The shower had loads of other peoples toiletries in it. The duvet was dirty. The place smelt and was generally dirty

It was completely misrepresented on B.c advertised as ‘Superior Suite’ when, in fact, it was a less than a ‘basic bed sit’. We had to borrow necessities from our family - hairdryer, toaster, bottle opener, there wasn’t even a win glass! I was forced to make several calls to B.c as the property manager did not respond to my phone calls, emails or messages. There was no mention of a second kitchen on the ground floor which we only discovered on leaving 3 days later as it was not included in photos of the advertised apartment. The photos that were included on the site were not true to reality - the apartment needed a deep clean and general refurb. The whole building (which was shared) stank of cigarette smoke. Altogether not a pleasant experience.

The pressure of the shower wad great.

There were hairs on the floor, bed and bathroom. The floor was dirty with dust and hadn't been swept or mopped. The room smelt of smoke. The kitchen downstairs didn't have any utensils which made cooking difficult and the pans were old. The front door was unlocked when entering the property, questionabke security. Tv didnt have a netflix account, you had to sign in and use your own account. To check in, there was no one available to talk to on the phone, just text.

Do not stay here. We have never left a place we have paid for to stay but it was so bad we couldn’t stay there. The photos DO NOT reflect the quality of the property. They do not represent what you are intending to rent out. There were bare pipes and cut wires in the cupboard. There was no light shade or pillow protectors. One towel left for us was damp. The tea towel was damp too. Windows were wide open, it was freezing cold and there was no heating to warm it up. The floor was coming up. The double glazed panels in the window were blown so we could hardly see out to the rubbish filled garden. The whole property was in a dirty state. There was jewellery down the toilet. The kitchen sink was dirty. The shower was dirty and we couldn’t possibly use it. There were no staff on the property to speak too. When we phoned the person managing the property, there was no answer until the next day. So we decided to contact booking.com customer service. They picked up promptly but unfortunately were unable to assist us as they required approval from the manager of the property. Booking.com couldn’t get hold of them either. This meant we couldn’t resolve the issue that evening. We did not stay in the property due to the above reasons. We were not entitled to a refund. The manager of the property stated we didn’t contact them which was false. They advised they would look into this further but did not and we never received a refund up until this day. I strongly advise anyone looking at this property to think twice. It is not superior, it is not sanitary and it is not suitable for any guest to stay in.

Location terrible, no breakfast, no parking and no heating. We travelled 50 miles to the location for a funeral the next day. We had to drive back home and arrived there at 1.30. I suffer from a lung disease and this distressed me so much I was unable to attend the funeral.
