Avila's Hostel Moalboal near Beach

Had a great pool and liked the communal atmosphere. Was walking distance into town and enough away from the centre that it was quiet.

It was not very clean - shower curtain badly needed replacing - they also have bed bugs so take care.

The area is good and quiet.

1. The bathroom smells. I think you need to change the shower curtain. This is for both rooms. 2. Room A's sliding door was broken(we cant locked it) and there's a pile of beds outside. 3.we were up earlier than the staff

The outside area with the pool was pleasant Able to book canyoneering through staff at the property Location is walkable to Main Street and beach, but not what I would describe as close.

Room was incredibly basic and extortionate price for what it was. All of the towels had strange stains on them, although they appeared to have been washed. There was a lizard in the room and dogs/ cockerels outside of the window that woke us up despite ear plugs. It wasn’t a very social hostel as aside from the pool there wasn’t a common area for guests. The owners/ staff just sat in the lobby on their phones watching videos. The bathroom wasn’t particularly clean and there was no hot water during the time we stayed there. Despite asking multiple times they said it was too late to call someone to fix it, and did not contact anyone the next day. We left a day early.

The caretaker was incredibly kind to my family, going above and beyond to buy goods for our milkshake request. Breakfast is available, or you can cook and use their barbecue grill. The place felt like a peaceful and quiet family vacation home. The pool is beautiful, and my 7-year-old absolutely loved it!

It’s quite far from Panagsama Beach, but you can rent a scooter from them or head to the main road to catch a tuk-tuk.

This place can only get better with a few upgrades: * Mainly the shower area was not very clean; please replace the mirror and don't keep it wet all the time because this will generate all different kind of insects, ants, a lot of muscito + larfs etc. * A good clean (spider webs etc.) walls etc.

I wanted to experience this place, but they canceled at the last minute it was 12nn ish while I was on my way to moalboal, they called and refunded me. Glad I didn't arrive there and get canceled that would be worse.
