Stylish miners cottage at North Rd

This was perfect for our stay, our father was from Porth and we like to go as often as possible. The people are always welcoming and friendly. Miners Cottage had everything we needed. Nice and cosy. We would definately go again as was very good value for the cost. I would recommend to others x

There was nothing we did not like.

We went to visit my son and he only lived a 10 min walk away so was a good location

The toilet seat was broken so every time you sat down you fell off nearly. Also the beds we small my partner is quite a big man so not much space in the beds.

The host was absolutely brilliant, have been in regular contact and nothing was too much to ask. The house is cleaned to a very high standard, very modern, the bath is amazing and the bed is the comfiest I've ever slept in. Close to local amenities and great transport links.

Was clean, tidy and convenient

There was no key so we couldn't get in and had wait outside in the freezing cold for 2 hours. There was no heating on, the plAce was only 5 degrees centigrade, it took two days to get the temperature up to 20. The stairs were too steep and there was no banister at the top. Totally unsuitable for eldely and infirm people like myself. The kitchen lacked Ng in a number of basic necessities Ike a casserole dish and potato masher.

It was reasonably priced and only a short drive from where I needed to be. It was clean and quiet despite being on a main road. The host has clearly tried to make an effort with the décor.

It was quite cold and a bit damp so I needed to keep the curtains shut to keep the heat in and there was a stale musty smell throughout. The kitchen utensils and equipment were limited and there wasn't enough to properly cook and have plates and cutlery for all guests. It was quite tricky to get parked outside the property.

Looks like a new venture so the decoration was pristine and tasteful. Facilities were all there (didn't find the WiFi code though). An imaginative conversion of a small miner's cottage.

Strange to have a stay with no contact (apart from email) with our "host". Arrived to a very cold house - investigation showed the boiler temp turned right down. Parking and traffic noise were both poor. The instruction, "Use the Park and Ride" ignores the stipulation that this is for rail travellers only. The stairway is steep and with no continuous handrail - very difficult for us elderly guests. Somewhat lacking in crockery - only three of some plates.

The property was fine and suitable. However there was a very strong smell of smoking throughout the period and it was quite hard to get used to it. I only used tge property to spend the nights there and could not relax due to the strong smell. There was no WiFi. Apart from these two issues it was good.
