Tarmachan Cottage - West Highland Getaway

Excellent home, well maintained, spacious, very communicative and friendly host.

The location was perfect and the sun room was our favorite. The abundance of wildlife was also great. Would absolutely stay here again and can't recommend it enough. Great place for the family.

The downstairs bed was quite firm. But otherwise, no complaints!

The house is very high quality home with beautiful fittings and an exceptional glassed dining area. It is quiet and located very near Locheill and the historic sites of Glenfinnan monument and the 'Harry Potter' viaduct. it is very spacious and comfortable and accommodates 4 adults easily. We had a car so exploring Ben Nevis and walks in the area was easy. there are busses also.

One of our party was not comfortable on the futon style bed. we had trouble locating the sign for Tamarchan. I may not have read instructions carefully however others may also need clearer instructions that it is not directly on the main access road from Fort William to Glenfinnan- but up a short steep driveway off that road to a private driveway. which makes it quiet and private.

Pease and quiet, spacious and Sun room

A perfect cottage (or should I said big house)! Love every minute of our stay in the house. Fully equipped kitchen and space for a large family. Plenty of books and toys to keep the children occupied. This is really a home away from home. The host is nice and responsive.

We loved Tarmachan Cottage, a beautiful location, a very well appointed house with an extensive garden with red deer visiting. We were a group of six, parents, adult children and their partners and there was plenty of space for us all with room to spare. It has two bathrooms plus a downstairs loo. There is a large conservatory which is the dining room and also has arm chairs and sofas with views over the garden. The owners obviously appreciate the wildlife with bird feeders by the windows and supplies of bird food so you can keep them topped up. It is a great base to explore this part of Scotland with Fort William, Ben Nevis and the Glenfinnan viaduct all nearby. If the weather is not good it also has the most extensive range of board games I have ever seen in a rented house! We all really enjoyed our holiday there and would recommend it unreservedly.
