Talaga Tomohon Home Stay and Fishing Pond

We really liked the place and the owner Riko, his wife and the staff are amazing (friendly, helpful, always ready to fullfil our needs). Very nice quiet place in the nature but yet close to the centrum and the main road. One feels like in the country side because the road is not heard and seen. Terrace with the view to Lokon volcano and the garden with ponds. Place was always clean, comfortable. Delicious meals (Riko is a great cook), own fish from the ponds, fruit and vegetable from the garden baken bananas in the outdoor grill are delicious).

Bathroom is shared but that was not a problem.

The outlook from the homestay is indeed memorable and reminded me of Ubud, Bali 40years ago in terms of tranquility in nature. The staff were lovely, helpful and accomodating. Rico is organised with your arrival downloading maps for areas of interest and his contact number.

I found the flow from the sink in the common bathroom (where people clean their teeth etc) across the floor so you have to walk into it to get to the toilet a bit disconcerting and could be easily modified. It would be nice if the mattresses were off the floor. More comfortable seating on the balcony would be an improvement.

We loved our stay in this peaceful homestay, very comfortable. Rico is an amazing host, always attentive to his guests.

Riko (und seine Familie) ist ein super hilfsbereiter und freundliche Gastgeber. Bei der Ankunft bekommt man direkt online alle nötigen Informationen für vor Ort und mögliche Ausflüge. Es gibt die Möglichkeit, sich vor und einen Roller zu leihen. Die Unterkunft ist mitten in der City in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße. Die Zimmer sind einfach, mit komfortablen Matratzen auf dem Boden. Vom Balkon aus hat man eine traumhaften Aussicht auf den tollen Garten und den Vulkanen - kein Luxus, aber dafür authentisch und herzlich. Danke!

Riko, the owner of this great homestay, is the perfect host. He went out of his way to ensure we had the perfect stay - the place is spotlessly clean and the food is delicious and includes produce from his own garden . We also went on a day tour that Riko conducted in the surrounding Minahasa Highlands which was well worth it. The bedrooms and shared bathroom are basic but have everything one needs. The views from the balcony are stunning. Peaceful and great value for money. Highly recommended!
