Dharma Horse Shelter Bungalows & Farmping

What a cool experience to sleep in a hut on the shelter property. We saw bulls and cows, but no horses, probably because they were in more shady spots at the other side of the huuuuge field. It looked lovely and had a beautiful view over the Balaton hills. The volunteers are super friendly and she made us breakfast in the morning. Egg, a piece of toast and some vegetables for a pay-what-you-want price. Simple, but easy to support the non-profit a bit more. Easy upgrades to the hut would be some hooks or a shelve to hang (wet) stuff on, so they can dry after swimming in the lake.

I'm writing this feedback, just because I see missed potential in this amazing concept! We would have 100% liked paying more for bedding. There are no pillows or blankets provided (which we knew beforehand!!) But we wouldn't mind paying more to the shelter if they provided clean bedding. You can rent a sleeping bag if you want, but no pillow. The mattress (foam sheet) was uncomfortably hard to sleep on. Please provide a locker to keep your phone safe while charging overnight.

We booked during the day informing them we would arrive at 11 pm and at 730 pm we got a confirmation and annoucement to arrive before 8 pm or we could not enter. I told them at 4 pm why wait till 30 min before… so we had to go and find another accomodation and no answer to any of my mails, complaints, will contact our lawyer.

Amazing idea, all in the nature but still with all needed facilities. It's a very quiet place, you can walk through little forests, pet their animals and just take a deep breath of nature.

It's hard to find this place on Google maps. Also take your own sleeping bags.

1. **Misleading Advertisement**: The booking ads indicated a view of the lake. However, the lodging is located in a valley surrounded by hills, obstructing any lake view. 2. **Poor Quality Bungalow**: The bungalow was very poorly made, with no windows, only small holes for ventilation. To get fresh air, we had to keep the door open, which was impossible due to the presence of numerous flies and mosquitoes. 3. **False Advertisement of Horses**: Contrary to the ads, we saw no horses. Instead, there were large cows with horns, which rubbed against our motorcycle and suitcases, posing a danger of damage or tipping over the motorcycle. Due to these significant issues, my partner and I chose not to stay and found another place to stay. Because of the above, I am requesting a full refund. I look forward to your prompt response and resolution to this.

The view to Balaton Lake is great. Accommodation is simple, as described, but toilets, showers, and the rest of the place is perfectly clean. We put our tent next to our car and enjoyed peacefulness of the place. In the morning, we were woken up by a donkey, soon horses came. Such beautiful times.
