Spindlestone Cottage - North East Escapes

Great location for accessing the coast(half a mile stroll), Bamburgh and Lindesfarne a short drive away. The guys spent happy hours in the Games room. Huge welcome pack ... but lacking basics in the kitchen we would expect for the price like foil and clingfilm and microwave containers. We left foil for next guest.

Be aware there is single glazing in all bedrooms and sitting room. This coupled with the hard floors and windows which wouldn't open caused condensation which never cleared as heating is managed off site and although there is a boost facility on the thermostat it is only for an hour. We found we were never really warm except in the lovely bright dining extension which is double glazed. No extra bedding provided and duvets 9 tog which didn't help warm us up on 6 degree mornings. Also be aware that there is a brand new build directly opposite which blocks any view of the sweet little valley. This is not clear on the photos. It needed a good clean and the firelighters logs were not provided. However on ringing up we had some delivered within the hour which was good. We bought firelighters ourselves and left some for next guest. We were told the cottage had just changed hands and they hoped to iron out any issues. I hope they do as the location is great for touring, if you don't mind not having any view. Maybe a little seating area outside the front of the cottage with a bench would help? For the price I expect more.
