The Bell's Self-Service Holiday Flat Bournemouth

The property was clean, wasn’t too far from Bournemouth Pier, Boscombe Beach, and the shops. It wasn’t too far from the station. Perfect view and the bed is comfortable. The layout is amazing and perfect for a family of four.

Plenty of room and the kitchen was well equipped. Good parking place for the car.

Entries to the kitchen, en- suite and bathroom had warning signs posted about slippery floors and steps but there was nothing provided to mitigate the hazards. No hand rails or grab handles or anything to hold onto. I actually slipped in the shower and on the entry step and stubbed my toes and fortunately suffered no serious injury. I reported this to the host and they were very dismissive and accused me of being aggressive in my language. I had to purchase two anti - slip mats to have confidence in using the shower. The apartment is located directly over the road from the local garbage truck depot and the fleet of trucks woke us up at 5 am every day. The TV in the lounge was described as a smart TV but it was not. The apartment is nowhere near the beach or the town centre.

The stairs when many more than expected, the 2 steps into both bathrooms & the kichen were quite dangerous as the went from black floor to black steps to black floor you needed to be very careful. . Very poor kitchen facilities no wonder the oven was so clean as there was only 1 large glass dish to use in the oven also the hunt to find the 2 saucepans was special. Cutlery was trow in a drawer how much does a cutlery tray cost? THIS IS NOT A BEACHFRONT PROPERY AND HAS NO BALCONY THAT WE COULD FIND. It was also opposite Bournmouth's refuse depot so we were woken up at 4 30 every morning as the bin lorries started to leave the depot this went on for 1.5 hrs each morning. We stuck it out fir 3 days but couldn't stand another disturbed night so decided we need to leave. This was a most disappointing holiday we have ever had & not cheap we feel we were sold a lie on many fronts and wait to hear from you.

The property is very well done, with ample space for at least 4 people. (More if you have children staying in the cot bed provided) We had everything we needed, for three girlie friends to get together for a much needed catch up. We felt very comfortable & safe there. Bars, Chinese, restaurants, supermarkets etc are all in walking distance. Not to mention the beautiful beaches. We also met the owner on our last day & she is absolutely lovely, down to earth & really friendly.

The property is based in one of the least safe roads in Bournemouth. Good location for getting around but not safe at all. The hot water wasn’t working so we had to call an engineer. The host was vile on the phone, shouting at us despite there being no instructions in respect of hot water. the engineer confirmed a fault and fixed it but it was too late for us as we were going out so had to leave unwashed. The flat was absolutely freezing when we returned at night. We slept in our clothes, we didn’t dare turn the heating on with all the warnings of extra charges and after being shouted at earlier.

Great location with nice sized rooms and parking available. Good base to travel around the town and neighboring areas.

Heating cannot be changed (unless you pay extra) and it's set too low and timed.. The house was always cold. Missed some basics like shower gel etc.

I've like the location very much

One issue which I had was the heating, which was set-up on winter times, good, happy with the times, but it worked just the radiator from the small bathroom. So I was forced to use the heating on manual Another issue was the fridge. Even though it was on the lowest setting, it froze all my vegetables and snacks for my kid.
