One Bed Suite near Beaches and Downtown Sarasota

Inside was clean and neat.

Toaster oven didn't work. Dishwasher door did not open all the way so not able to use it. The outside courtyard needs a lot of work. Dirty furniture and plant beds full of weeds. Not attractive at all.

Very private, quiet and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable, AirCon is fantastic and the bed is very comfortable.

Disappointed that the hot tub has been removed, I’d reinstate it as this would put the property in another level. The hot tub was situated in the Lanai keeping it away from bugs so it was perfectly located.

The property is close to the beach, restaurant and shopping centers.

The location was good

Before booking I inquired if it was a shared space. She replied only the garage. What she didn’t say is that it is one house where access to the back part has been closed off by boarding up the doorways, hanging a tarp over them and then placing the fridge in front of one. Kinda creepy IMO. Needs some updates. Screen door doesn’t close. Roof leaks, bathroom vanity very worn, drawers don’t open. No stove buy a hot palate. Says there is toiletries but in reality it’s just stuff people left behind. Tv was unreliable. And only one located in the living room. Cleaning crew need to do a Better job. Crumbs on the kitchen counter, party items left over on the lanai.

1) It is not a entire house as advertised, boarded inside and rented as 2 separate units 2) Hot tub not working: We booked late march. It is one of the first 2 features in the listing. On May 3, the day after the payment went through, the owner said it was broken and that she could try to fix it. During that time, I saw online a review from early April mentioning that the hot tub was not working. 3) Latch for gate to exit yard and property inadequate: it is on the outside of the gate and functions with a primitive cord attached to a chain, and came unattached as we were unloading the car. We were stuck in the yard/ house unable to exit. We had to wait 1/2 h for the host. She then locked herself and us in and had to yell to a pedestrian to unlock us. She did not seem to think this was an issue. What if you are trying to catch a plane or attend your son's graduation, which was the purpose of our visit. After I mentioned the 3 first above items as being problematic. We did receive a partial refund for the nights we were not there. We do not feel that we should pay for cleaning fee as we were there less than 24hours of 8 days stay, didn’t even use the shower, and the property wasn't all clean (residues in kitchen drawers, mold in shower and shower curtain to name a few) and was grossly falsely advertised. We gave 3 weeks to the host and booking.com to do the right thing and refund us the cleaning fee at a minimum, and the first night to compensate us for our ordeal. With the horrible experience of being locked in the yard unable to leave and the purposely false advertising of the use of the entire house, we feel we should get a full refund. As of today, this property is still falsely advertised, even though we have informed booking.com. We have used booking.com over the past 15 years or so, and this is the first time we have issues.
