Charming House in Sliema close to Sliema ferries

The location

Funny smell in the kitchen and can be noisy at night but since it was clean and spacious and ideal location it made it bearable

The only thing to commend this place was its proximity to the waterfront

We came to Malta from New Zealand to donate some precious family heirlooms to the museum -for which they are very grateful, but the experience was ruined. This place is an utter disgrace, and hugely overpriced. Filthy, with disgusting black worms on the floor, periodic strong smell of sewage, dust everywhere - in the beds, on the floor, in the food. The house was nothing like the site's photos- it is dark, very poorly lit, completely lacking in comfort and ambiance. The "sofa set" is a couple of dirty, mismatched old couches. Terrible beds - very disturbed sleep. The kitchen is too poorly lit to cook in safety, the table wobbly, and filthy curtains, the hems sagging or held together by safetypins over a work surface are a serious health hazard. There is junk piled on top of a wardrobe, a non-functioning washing machine stuffed into an alcove. I took photos downstairs but even in daylight, they are too dark to show anything much. Nobody from management coming to our aid for hours when the front door lock jammed during a rainstorm, my elderly husband, soaked through, became very ill and spent a week in bed on antibiotics. It was a waiter from a nearby cafe who phoned for us and had no reply, or a non-existent number. The front door lock also is insecure, being at times able to be pushed open, despite appearing locked. It took management 12 hours to acknowledge my concerns, but no solution to leaving things unsafe. Despite my husband's illness, we had to go out as staying in that horrible environment was driving us mad. Management did bring a rubber mat for the shower when I slipped on the wet tiles and injured my knee...an injury which troubles me still after 2 weeks, but have made no enquiry or apology. My husband, miserable as he was from his illness and experiences, just could not summon the energy to have to pack up and leave to find somewhere else. I hope to save others from making the same mistake and paying excessively for basically a hovel.

Niedziałająca klimatyzacja w pokoju z łazienką ( latem to było uciążliwe) oraz brak w jednej łazience ciepłej wody . Dom ma swój klimat ,ale trzeba trochę zainwestować, wszystko się rozpada.Żeby była klimatyzacja i ciepła woda dałbym 8.

Only the location the house is terrible poor nothing works and too much cockroaches.. every single day because Theirnis holes in the walls they are not closed and the house needs a deep clean I kept cleaning everyday but was not enough too old too dirty and nothing is good

The house is filthy dirty worms come out of the wood everyday big worms .. the house interior is falling apart too old . The cooker only 2 eyes work and they are the small ones the fridge is only for water you can use the freezer the oven you don’t know what number to put the food as all numbers don’t show and it takes ages .. the guy you rent the property is very good but the problem is from the owner he is greedy he rent you a place unlivable just because it has a good location … to be honest I felt it’s a scam … I saved for one year to go malta I ended up cleaning and mopping the floors and killing cockroaches 😬 I walked every single day with my kids 20000 steps to avoided going to the house … I think the people they bring to clean the house should be questioned they don’t clean at all .. and one morning I was making coffee the cockroach fell from up the ceiling.. I never had coffee in the house and it’s so dark the kitchen not enough light

We had a wonderful stay at the Charming House in Sliema. We had to contact the owner and he came out straight away and was very helpful. The house is in a beautiful traditional style in an ideal location very close on the corner of Marks & Spencers just across from the ferries over to Valletta. It is spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Good air-conditioning and the kitchen is well equipped too. This is the second time we stayed at this house and we love it. You are just a few steps from all the restaurants and shops and when you come inside its all peaceful and quiet. We slept well every night. A wonderful house, great owner, brilliant location! We will be back next year! Thank you
