Lake View Double Balcony City Center Apartment in Ohrid

Very well located apartment, well equipped with a nice balcony offering a view on the old town and the lake. Communication and responsiveness of the host was excellent. Would recommend

Overall the stay was fine. Maja, who was responsible for the apartment, was wonderful and took care of everything we needed. Whether it was helping us find parking or paying for it when we could not manage to do it ourselves, she went above and beyond. She even made sure to buy a fan for the bedroom. She was very pleasant, and our communication with her was excellent. Pros 1. First and foremost, the location. It is perfect, right next to the Old Town, and it is a real pleasure to go out in the evening and be directly on the pedestrian street without having to take the car. 2. The apartment was clean. 3. The kitchen was very well equipped? 4. There is also a dryer, which was very convenient.

Cons 1. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low. It was not easy to shower. 2. The hot water temperature was inconsistent, switching between warm and cold, making it difficult to control and uncomfortable to shower. 3. Although the listing says there is parking and technically there is free parking behind the building, the chances of finding a spot are very slim. We ended up spending more than an hour looking for parking. Maja was, of course, very helpful in this matter. 4. When we arrived there were not enough towels (only one large towel for all five of us), the sheets on one bed were dirty, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper. We told Maja about it and she immediately brought us everything we needed. 5. The listing says the apartment has air conditioning, but in reality there is only one unit in the living room and none in the bedroom. In August it is not cool at all. We mentioned this to Maja, and the next day she brought us a brand new fan for the bedroom, which was more than sufficient. 6. The dining table was unstable and wobbly. In summary, I think the apartment does not fully match the standards we are used to, even though we are not very demanding. However, the score I gave was not very low because of the excellent communication with Maja and her willingness to help wherever she could.

Great apartment in the best location, right opposite the market street and a short stroll to the lakefront with easy access to loads of restaurants, shops, bakeries, supermarkets and the beach. The apartment was spotlessly cleaned, air conditioned and with a great little balcony to enjoy the view of Ohrid and the lake. Lastly, the host Martin was fantastic, provided very clear instructions on how to find the building and access the apartment, checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed and was always available for any questions I had. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned to Ohrid the next week and re-booked the same apartment.
