Luna Retreat - Newbiggin by the Sea

Location. Everything we needed for our short stay. ..

Baby bottle with juice in a draw. Bed was uncomfortable. . Could hear springs from mattress. Topper been put on top. Pillows flat.. Some simple maintenance required . Torn nett curtains. Loose toilet seats. Plugs not on chains and shower door broken. (replaced with curtain).

Lovely stay in newbiggin with lovely views .

Carpet still needs sorting in between kitchen and living area (trip hazard )

Rooms were very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Brilliant layout with plenty of social space. Parking just opposite the caravan. Really enjoyed the dog friendly beach behind the caravan park. Enjoyed the town/village for eating out.

Some general maintenance required - broken toilet seat in en suite, dodgy shower screen (my son got stuck in the shower!), flat batteries in smoke alarm and CO alarm. Internet didn't work, despite speaking to the management rep and attempts to get it resolved. TV wasn't a smart TV, so no connection to iPlayer etc. Would have been fine had there been a dvd player instead. Despite rooms being very clean, some cupboards had obviously not been cleaned between guests. One kitchen cupboard was really sticky/dirty, a drawer in a bedside table had a child's soft toy and a baby's bottle with juice rolling about which had leaked. Check-in instructions were unclear. Said to use reception if arriving after 5pm, but reception closes at 5pm! Key fob needed to get the car through the gate was at the caravan. We called security to let us in but otherwise would need to walk to the caravan first to get the keys and fob. These issues stop the caravan from being very good or excellent value.

2nd stay in this caravan, we love how cosy and comfy it is a how close it is to the beach and amenities. Communication is fab too, you always know if help is needed it’s there.

Well without sounding like a spoiled brat, the first time we stayed we got a lovely welcome gift of Prosecco and biscuits but 2nd time we didn’t but wouldn’t stop me going again!😂 also the first time we went the caravan smelled gorgeous and fresh, 2nd time not so much.

Amazing communication from the host with excellent check in details and information. Lovely location,right near the sea. Beautiful,well equipped,cosy,comfortable,homely,welcoming caravan.Peaceful site,close to all amenities,ample parking.Home from Home in every way. You will not find a better place to stay.

Caravan was clean and comfortable as previous stay. Had everything you would need for your visit.

Didn't enjoy our stay at all this time, as the owners of the next caravan to the right have their TV so loud that we could here what they were watching above the sound from our own TV. This noise went on until between 12pm and 1am both nights. Interrupting our ability to sleep.
