The ratings on this site for this property are highly contentious. During our visit, we discovered a number of issues with the property (broken toilet flush, mattresses that were unusable) and alerted the property owners to no avail. They sent a plumber who agreed the flush needed fixing (the owners had installed a bizarre roundabout to flush the toilet that was temperamental at best). What was WORSE is as a consequence of this inadequate toilet situation, there was constant leakage to the floor below. We alerted this fact to the property owner at the first instance and nothing came about. Subsequently, the water leak into the kitchen below grew and grew to the point fungal matter (LITERALLY mushrooms sprouting from the wall) grew from toilet water. The owners, despite supplying TV and internet, have not applied for a TV licence: during our stay there were TWO letters threatening (as they usually do) of an enforcement visit. But the WORST thing of this entire trip was their bizarre negligence to admit to us that THE ELECTRICITY AND GAS ARE ON A METER AND SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. On this fateful Sunday morning at 9am the electricity and gas switched off in the middle of winter. We established that: 1. The neighbours were fine 2. There was no issue with supply speaking to the electricity company But where were the property owners? Ah, dear reader: the WhatsApp business number they supplied showed their business hours to be closed ON WEEKENDS. We tried multiple times to call them to no avail (giff gaff voice mail). We even tried messaging them on the booking.com app which a random response came several hours later. In the end, with food in the fridge and freezer, and a house getting colder and colder, we phoned customer services of booking.com. They too could not reach the owners. Having been rattled by booking.com I assume they messaged us to say ‘oh, we have poor mobile service in the area’ - but NOTHING on what they wished to do.

The property was a 3 bedroom detached house in small cul de sac, very quiet and peaceful. It was very clean and perfectly located to our event we were attending. Highly recommended.

Very helpful host. Clean, cozy, comfy rooms. Well fitted kitchen. The host had left us chips in the fridge as welcoming together with all hot drinks which was very helpful in the start of our first day of stay. There were also some games for the children. Thanks alot.
