Bed bij Bistro

location was very good, close to the harbor and at one end of the main street the room is very nice, coffee, tea and biscuits in the morning

Just be aware that if you book the room in the attic (which is lovely) you have to climb really steep stairs

The host was really very kind. He moved us from one of the two rooms we had booked to the apartment because there was a festival going on in the village and the room was very noisy. The room and the apartment we had were really well-kept, very clean and well-furnished. We really had a wonderful time. In addition, the location was very convenient and central.

Everything Staff were lovely and welcoming. Location was great. Fabulous over the bridge

Took a while to find as the bistro, was named different. The restaurant below is only open weekends

Bed and general facilities in room

I could not find the light switch from the bed in the middle of the night. I blundered in the dark to the toilet but fell three metres down the open stair well next to it.. I am badly bruised. The stairway needs to have a gate to prevent this sort of accident. The light switches in the room are of a modern touch design and counter-intuitive for the average guest. the only main light switch is on the wrong side of the bed and almost inaccessible. This accident could easily happen to another guest with possibly serious outcome.

The host was welcoming. Good location but ridiculously noisy until 1 AM. It's a shame because Medemblik is such a pretty and charming town.

The KTV & yelling was non-stop until 1 AM. Being in this room felt like you were inside the bar because it was so loud and boisterous. If the owners continue to rent this room to hapless travelers, they need to make a substantial investment in noise insulation. Also, some lights on motion control, difficult to figure out how to turn them off. We did not enjoy our stay and would not recommend this apartment to others.
