Awesome staff and service! Beautiful place with a great island vibe and decor! I loved our balcony!

The glass enclosure of the balcony kinda made it like a sauna ☺️

Location!!!! I loved this island because it was more local family vibes, still plenty of shopping and great food! The beach is your front porch! The morning sunrise and evening sunset, gorgeous!

Staff were super attentive and friendly, served its purpose as an airport lay over stay. Very pleased with my stay.

I stayed at The Hive Beach Hotel for 2 nights in Hulhumalé. During my stay, my surfboard travel bag was stored overnight by the hotel. When I retrieved it the following morning at checkout, I discovered a large cut through 3 layers of the bag’s protective foam. The damage was not present when I arrived at the hotel, as I had inspected the bag after collecting it from Malé Airport and handled it carefully myself during shuttle transfer. I raised this immediately at checkout with front desk staff (a woman named Blessing). She acknowledged that the damage may have occurred in the storage area, as it is very small and not suitable for storing large board bags (despite me having confirmed beforehand that storage was possible). I also noted that another guest, who arrived on a different day, experienced a very similar cut to her board bag while stored at the hotel. Separately, I also experienced issues with the room condition. The window did not fully close properly, leaving a small gap even when shut due to a broken handle mechanism. In addition, I noticed a used toothbrush left on the window ledge near the shower area at check-in, which suggested the room had not been fully cleared or properly cleaned. The surfboard bag is now unusable for its intended purpose and had to be replaced at a cost of AUD $559. I contacted the hotel afterwards to try to resolve the matter directly, but they declined all responsibility despite the evidence provided. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel, particularly for travellers carrying valuable sports equipment or expecting consistent room maintenance standards.
