Casa da Encosta Douro Valley

The owner provided all information needed for the check in. The house is great with a nice view over the river and the bridge. It is equipped with everything we needed. If you come by car, the access road is rough but you can leave the car along the main road.

Similar to other reviews, this is an amazing place. Perfectly situated. Breakfast provisions were plentiful and yummy! Lots of bottled water and we didn’t discover the decanter of port until the day we were leaving!😂 Sitting on the balcony in the morning with the sun shining on you, drinking coffee, watching folks come and go, is so nice. And in the evening with the lights from the river walk 😍We parked our car outside the gate and had no issues.

While the road up was rough, it’s nothing that you can’t handle in most cars. However, sports cars that ride low would likely be challenged. And for guests with mobility issues, this would be a tough walk up and down.

Well equipped, clean home in a beautiful location. Would happily stay here again.

Everything, great location, well fitted out, clean and spacious. The generous hosts left a full fridge, bowl of fruit and yes, a carafe of fine Port.

Spectacular view. Close to town and ability to walk to Quintas from the accommodation. Well equipped. Generous with kitchen provision. Felt like a home.

Didn’t stay long enough.

This was the most amazing property. It has absolutely stunning views. I honestly could sit there all day and watch the world go by. The property was clean and had everything you’d need The fridge was stocked with meats, cheese, eggs , milk and juice. There was bread, cookies and port too. Such a great place for us for our 3 nights. Quick response from the host when we had a few questions. Not to be missed.

Like everyone else has said before, the road is a bit sketchy. Our car made it up okay but we decided to leave it be for the 3 days we were there. Didn’t need it anyway.

Beautiful views from this location and so many special touches from the host - from the stocked fridge and pantry to all items to use for an outdoor bbq, lush pool towels and a decanter of port left for us to enjoy! The host was always prompt in getting back to us and even made dinner reservations for our first nite of arrival! Loved this place and the town of Pinhao!

The drive up and parking the car was a little challenging but everything else made it worthwhile!

The outdoor space and interior furnishings were very comfortable. Everything was provided. The considerate stocking of the fridge and pantry was much appreciated! AC in bedrooms was great.

We didn’t mind it, but the rocky narrow road up to the house required some caution. Backing the car in and out could be tricky.

A great location in Pinhao, with stunning views of the valley. The home was clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. The communication with the host was fast and they were happy to help at any time.
