Alora House - Authentic Tetebatu with Village Tours & Cooking

Nous avons été dans l’ensemble déçu de notre expérience à Tetebatu et à Alora House. Nous n’avons pas reçu beaucoup d’informations lors de notre arrivée, check-in très bref et aucun guide nous a été conseillé le premier jour, nous avons donc visité les alentours par nous même. Nous avons finalement eu un guide le lendemain qui était très sympathique mais qui ne parlait malheureusement pas anglais. Logement assez excentré, vous pouvez vous faire livrer un dîner mais pas de repas cuisiné sur place ce qui est dommage. Le propriétaire a su réajuster nos problématiques que se soit taxi/dîner ou guide mais je vous conseille vivement de tout réserver en avance.

J: I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I spent 2 incredible nights. Alora house lays in the middle of the rice fields. The view from the terrace of the room is beautiful and gives a great look of the nature surrounding the property. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is outside which adds charm to the place. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed by Roby (host and guide) and the Alora team who played a huge role in our stay. Roby was a great guide, listening to our expectations, cultivated, funny and super musician. I learned a lot about Tetebatu. In the morning breakfast was brought on the terrace of the room, I recommend the banana pancake: it was delicious! 🤤 M: Alora house is amazing! It is a quiet, magical place surrounded by nature. The house is great, clean, spacious and fits so well with its surrounding. Roby has been the most fantastic guide, showing us around in the area of Tetebatu and really taking his time for us. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Alora house. Would love to come back again!

Amazing location and room! The staff is just the best; very friendly and accommodating. The tour they provide is really fun, local, and we learned so much from it! The breakfast was amazing, best we had.

The bathroom is outdoor, not a problem at all but there will be some insects 😄

Good size room and bathroom

I wouldn't recommend, the staff provide poor service particularly when we hired bike and they charged extra night then claiming its nothing to do with them its another company. Their taxi driver they organised for us to get ro the port was terrible and uncomfortable with no air con, when raising this with them they simply said they have nothing to do with it even though we ordered the service from them. Some training on customer service and accountability is something these people working in the hospitality business would benefit from - instead of looking at guests like they are stupid because they are foreign.

The highlight was definitely Robi, the local guide that works here. My wife and i went with him on village and waterfall tours and it was definitely worth it. He can explain everything in nice detail and he showed us the local life. The house looks very nice and cozy, we had a pleasant stay. Everything went well. It is a secluded area, so there are not many restaurants around. We did not have a bike, so we ordered some food from Robi.

The shower is not covered so we were not able to take a shower during the rain. Sometimes the mosque callings can wake you up, but Lombok is a muslim island. Other than that it was really good!

Great stay in the heart of Tetebatu. Cute houses with a large bed and a shower outside which is nice. Roby was a great host and showed us around the villages and through the ricefields. Food options are limited (we were there during Ramadan) but ordering through Roby went well and food tasted great!

The outside seating area on the porch could be a bit more comfortable.

The room is very nicely designed. It was clean. The staff was very kind and helpful, they were addressing all our requests and questions. You can also rent scooter at the property and they will arrange you a driver as well if needed.

I am not a big fan of outside bathrooms because of insects. The property is at the end of a street, you will need scooter to access the city and prepare for some walk.
