"Interesting historic building, filled with interesting artifacts, very helpful host."

Unusual converted farm house, host in house behind, so always available. Just about everything needed was there, especially in the kitchen area. Host very helpful and understanding with off road parking, gave up their own space. Interesting artifacts in the house, in keeping with the overall historic build, 1768!

No real hanging space for clothes. Stairs up to bedrooms/bathroom was steep and needed to be careful when descending. A little bit noisy from cafe opposite with windows open, but quiet overnight when windows shut, so not a problem. Only toilet was down stairs, but worked well.

"Logeren in de geschiedenis"

Helga ontving ons hartelijk, op de heetste dag van het jaar was het binnen zeer aangenaam "koel", 23⁰ terwijl het buiten the de 38⁰ was. Een heerlijke douche, biertje in de tuin en wandelen door prachtig Vollenhove. De fietsen stonden onder een afdakje. Fred en Helga hadden het zeer oude pand heel prettig verbouwd tot een gezellige woning!

Eigenlijk niets.

Beautiful quaint old house in quiet village. Full of character with authentic furnishings. Very clean and well equipped. Wonderful hosts, good communication, met us with the key and made sure there were no issues. Nice pub/restaurant across the road.

It was very warm when we were there and the bedrooms upstairs got very hot. It would have been great to have a fan. Also the toilet is downstairs and the stairs are very steep which is a bit tricky if you need to go during the night. Definitely not for people with mobility issues!

Lovely location with a unique character. Friendly hosts, who live next door and clear instructions. Free and convenient parking 2 minutes walk from the front door. The kitchen is well equiped. Vollenhove is a cute little city. There is ample shopping within a five minute walk of the house. The place is excellent for exploring the wider surroundings. Zwolle is a great city at about a half hour drive. There are also lots of other nice destinations nearby, like Kampen, Urk, Lemmer, and all kinds of beautiful watery landscapes (rivers, IJsselmeer, polderlandscapes, peat extractions etc.) giving you a historic crash course in how-to-build-the-netherlands. Amsterdam is only slightly over an hour away too.
